Peking University International Hospital is located in Peking University Medical City (Zhongguancun Life Science Park, Changping District, Beijing), which is the flagship project of the Medical City. With the mission of "building an international first-class hospital and leading the reform of the medical system", the hospital is jointly invested by Peking University and Founder Group***.
As the ninth affiliated hospital of Peking University Medical School, Peking University International Hospital receives strong support from the Medical School of Peking University and its affiliated hospitals in medical treatment, teaching and scientific research, and tries to integrate resources, inherit and innovate the disciplinary advantages of Peking University Medical School, provide high-quality medical services and medical environment, meet the increasing demand for healthcare services of the public, and establish a model and standard of hospital management in China that is in line with international standards. It also establishes a Chinese hospital management model and standards in line with international standards.
The hospital covers an area of 298 acres, with a total construction area of 440,000 square meters. The total investment of the project is 4.5 billion yuan, and the number of approved beds is 1,800. The hospital has 36 centers and 49 disciplines.
In terms of information technology construction, the hospital's information system will reach HIMMS (Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society of America) level 7. As a clinical teaching hospital of Peking University's Department of Medicine, the hospital has an independent science and education building, as well as a 3,500-square-meter central laboratory, which assumes the role of a training, teaching and scientific research base for the cultivation of the next generation of internationalized medical talents. Peking University International Hospital will be officially opened in December 2014.
