What is a defibrillator?
A defibrillator is an "automated external defibrillator". It is an intelligent medical device that can be used by the public, and is characterized by having full voice prompts and visual illustrations (usually for the uninitiated), as well as the ability to automatically analyze the heart rhythm and prompt for defibrillation, so that the user does not have to worry about defibrillation errors due to a lack of knowledge of how to use it, or how to read an electrocardiogram.
