What is the replacement of sound-absorbing cotton in the chassis?

Common fans are divided into two types: oil-bearing type (bearing lubricated with lubricating oil) and ball bearing type. Generally, the cheaper fans are oil-bearing type. This kind of fan has less noise and the cooling effect can meet the requirements, but its service life is not long, and after a period of use, it will produce greater noise because of uneven lubrication of bearings. Every time the machine is turned on, the oil on the fan bearing is somewhat similar to a solidified state. After the fan rotates, it will gradually increase with the speed. At the same time, the temperature has also increased. At this time, the lubricating oil gradually melts under the action of temperature to achieve the effect of lubricating the bearing, which is why you said that there was noise after starting the machine for about 5 minutes, and then there was no noise (of course it would be quiet after melting). )

Computer noise mainly comes from fans. Many materials have introduced the methods of oiling the fan to reduce the noise, but I don't think the noise of the fan is necessarily due to the lack of oil in the bearing. Here, I will explain my experience and understanding on the causes of fan noise and the specific operation of refueling the fan.

The eccentricity of fan blades is the main cause of noise. The blade center of gravity of high-quality fan is on the shaft, which runs smoothly and has low noise. However, inferior fans often have a certain deviation, and the center of gravity of the blades will not cause "eccentricity" on the shaft. After such a fan rotates, it is equivalent to an oscillator (the oscillator is to add an eccentric wheel to the motor shaft). As the use time becomes longer, the bearing of the fan is gradually worn out, or the heat sink of the fan is not firmly installed and becomes loose. The simplest solution to this fault is to install the fan as firmly as possible, so that it will not vibrate. Of course, this method does not solve the substantive problem because the blades of the fan are still "eccentric"; Another method is to inject oil into the bearing of the fan to buffer vibration, thus reducing noise; There is another way to solve the problem fundamentally: remove the fan blade and hang it with a thin iron wire through the small hole in the center of the fan blade. If one end falls off, it means it is heavy. You can grind it on the grinding wheel several times. After several times, when the fan blade is hoisted with fine wire, if the fan blade can stand still in the horizontal position, it means that the transformation is successful. Several problems of fan oil injection;

1. sewing machine oil or engine oil, I suggest using four-stroke motorcycle oil, because sewing machine oil is very thin, with strong fluidity and volatility, and it won't be long before the fan will recur after oiling. Moreover, sewing machine oil has little buffering effect on vibration and has little effect on reducing noise. The use of engine oil just avoids the above two disadvantages.

2. Sealing problem after refueling. The label paper is attached to the refueling part of the fan. After degreasing the label paper, the label paper can't be used any more. What should be used instead? I chose four or five layers of scotch tape. Find a roll of cellophane paper, cut it horizontally with a knife, about four or five layers, and then peel off these four or five layers of cellophane paper together to use. Be careful not to use only one layer of tape paper, because a layer of tape paper is easy to vibrate and make noise when the fan rotates, and it may be damaged, causing oil splashing. Another advantage of using scotch tape instead of label paper is that it is clear at a glance whether the fan is short of oil, and it is not necessary to disassemble it.

There are generally two fans in the chassis, one is the CPU fan and the other is the power supply fan. Through consulting experts, it is known that the noise of the fan has the greatest relationship with the bearing, which is the heart of the fan. Our common fan bearing types are as follows:

Oil-bearing, this bearing structure is generally an iron ring sheathed on a copper core, and the middle is sealed with grease. This kind of fan has relatively low noise in the early stage, and the cost seems to be the lowest. But the life span is relatively short, generally within 20000 hours. At the end of use, due to the consumption of grease, the noise will gradually increase and the speed will also decrease. Generally, the price of these bearings is within 10 yuan, and most of them are small-brand products.

Ball bearing is the most widely used bearing in the world. There are some steel balls or columns between two iron rings, supplemented by some grease to reduce friction. Fans using ball bearings are also the most common in the market, because of their long service life, low calorific value, stable noise value and low cost. Kyushu Fengshen, overclocking three and other major brands are using this bearing.

Generally, hybrid bearings are equipped with an oil-bearing and a ball bearing, which is intended to give full play to their advantages and complement each other. In addition, two ball bearings are used, which can effectively extend the service life of the product. Generally, the service life of double ball bearings is more than 50 thousand hours, which is mostly used in servers.

Alloy bearing is a patent of Kuleng Supreme, which is used for high-end products of Kuleng Supreme. The bearing has a shaft core with reverse spiral grooves and oil retaining grooves. When the fan is running, the oil will flow back in the opposite direction, which avoids the loss of oil and prolongs the service life of the bearing. This design can obviously reduce the noise of the fan and prolong its service life, but the price is slightly higher.

Magnetic bearing, this technology is brought by the famous radiator manufacturer AVC, and some Tt products will also use this kind of bearing. The magnetic levitation fan suspends the fan based on the principle of magnetic force, and relies on the magnetic levitation force to attract the fan blades to form a 360-degree orbit around the shaft to form a stable rotation. There is no contact between the two ends of the bearing of the magnetic suspension fan, which completely avoids friction and prolongs the service life. This technology overcomes the shortcomings of traditional fans, such as uneven rotation speed, easy to be blocked in rotation, loud mechanical noise and easy to be damaged by impact.

Nano-ceramic bearings developed by Foxconn have longer service life, higher efficiency and lower noise, which are only found in Foxconn's heat dissipation products at present.

Through the above knowledge, we can know that the Great Wall power supply used by Jiajiale computer uses oil-bearing that has not been used for a long time. However, because Bozhou is close to the Yellow River, the temperature has dropped rapidly recently, and the temperature rise of the user's environment has not had time to keep up. The grease sealed in the fan bearing has solidified due to the low temperature, so it will make a lot of noise when starting. Then, the temperature R generated by rotary friction melts the grease, improves the lubrication conditions and naturally disappears the noise.

How to solve the noise of computer host

First, reduce power supply noise.

1. Clean the dust of the power supply fan.

First, prepare a small bottle of engine oil and a toothpick, then remove the power supply from the chassis, open the shell of the power supply, remove the fan, find the dust on the fan blade, and clean it with a soft brush. After cleaning, there is usually a label in the middle of the front of the fan. Uncover the label and you can see the bearing of the fan. Dip the lubricating oil on the bearing with a toothpick. Pay attention to the right amount of oil. When finished, stick the label back to prevent dust from entering, and then restore the fan and power supply. Need to be reminded, don't use engine oil casually when refueling the fan. Inferior engine oil not only does not help lubrication, but will accelerate the wear of bearings. We should choose special products or use high-quality sewing machine oil instead.

2. Replace the mute power supply fan

Users can also consider replacing the silent power supply or fan. At present, there are many silent power supplies on the market, which are usually strictly tested and can effectively reduce the noise of power supplies. In addition, a better cooling fan can be replaced for the power supply, and the process of replacing the power supply fan is also very simple. The key is to pay attention to the connection between the fan and the power supply.

3. Buffer and shockproof

For the power supply, it is not only the connection between the fan and the power supply, but also the connection between the power supply and the chassis. In addition to firm fixation, you can also add buffers such as thin cloth and rubber pad at the contact position, and even buy special power supply shock-proof products.

4. Prevent large current shock

If the noise of the user's power supply is caused by the high current at the moment of starting, you can install a filter or switch to a better quality power supply to prevent the noise caused by the impact of high current. You can also buy some smart power sockets with filtering function to connect to the host to ensure that the computer power supply is not disturbed by external current.

Second, reduce CPU noise.

1. Replace the fan or install the buffer.

Since the CPU fan is the source of noise, we can replace it with a lower noise CPU fan. Of course, to ensure that the air volume provided by CPU fan is enough to dissipate heat for CPU, we must not blindly use low-speed CPU fan to reduce noise. We must buy a silent CPU fan specially designed to reduce noise. We can also install buffer pads, such as sponges and rubber pads, at the four corners of the contact part between the fan and the radiator.

2. Replace the radiator

If you really can't stand the noise of the air-cooled radiator, you can replace the radiator, such as using a new heat pipe technology radiator. The principle of heat pipe technology is to transfer heat through vaporization and liquefaction of liquid. Of course, conditional users can also choose water-cooled radiator, which can achieve good heat dissipation effect and completely eliminate the noise of CPU fan.

3. Install the hot fan regulator.

The so-called hot fan governor is an automatic fan governor with a temperature probe. When in use, the temperature probe is in contact with the heat sink, and the fan is connected with the governor. When the temperature rises, the governor controls the fan to increase the rotational speed, and when the temperature is low, the governor controls the fan to decrease the rotational speed, thus reducing the fan noise.

Third, reduce the working noise of the hard disk.

1. Reduce vibration and noise.

To reduce the noise of the hard disk, it is necessary to minimize the vibration with the chassis. When you remove the hard disk from the chassis, you will find that the hard disk will make little noise when it is not connected to the chassis. We can reduce the vibration of hard disk and chassis by adding rubber pads to achieve the purpose of noise reduction.

Prepare four rubber pads with a thickness of about 1 mm and the size of a nail shell, and then cut the middle of the rubber pads with scissors, as long as the hard disk fixing screws can pass through. Next, put the hard disk into the hard disk shelf of the chassis, pay attention to the rubber pad between the hard disk shelf and the hard disk, and align the opening with the fixing screw opening of the hard disk. Finally, tighten the hard disk fixing screw through the rubber pad. In addition, elastic rubber strip can be used as a suspension system, that is, rubber strip is used to suspend the hard disk under the hard disk bracket, thus avoiding the rigid connection between the hard disk and the bracket, thus avoiding vibration and noise.

2. Reduce reading and writing noise

Reduce the noise of hard disk reading and writing, arrange hard disk on time, and reduce file fragmentation. This can reduce the moving range of the magnetic head and reduce the noise of the hard disk to a certain extent. In addition, a special hard disk mute tool can be installed, which can prolong the hard disk seek time and reduce the hard disk noise (about 1%) at the expense of performance. For example, the sound management tool can be used for the Maituo hard disk. When the tool is executed in pure DOS, a command parameter prompt as shown in figure 12 will appear. The first parameter is silent mode (the quietest, but the performance of the hard disk is much lower. ); The second item is the fast mode (quieter, and the performance of the hard disk is somewhat reduced. ); The third item is to turn off the noise reduction function (at this time, the hard disk has the highest performance but the loudest noise); The fourth item is to check the running status of the current hard disk noise reduction function.

For IBM/ Hitachi hard disk, you can use the hard disk management program FeatureTool of IBM hard disk. After executing this tool, an IBMDOS2000 floppy disk will be automatically created, and then the system will be started with this floppy disk. Select the "ChangeAcousticLevel" item in the interface that appears (as shown in figure 13), and then you can change the sound mode of the hard disk, for example, you can choose low-noise QuickSeekMode or high-performance NormalSeekMode. Of course, other brands of hard disks have similar special noise reduction tools. You can look for it in official website. In addition, the motherboard chipset has similar optimization tools. For example, INETL's IAA (Intel Application Accelerator) software can activate the "automatic sound management" function of the hard disk.

Fourthly, reduce the noise of CD-ROM drive.

The noise of optical drive or DVD drive is caused by the physical movement of internal parts, so many manufacturers have developed several noise reduction technologies, such as automatic balancing system (ABS) and dual-power seismic suspension system (DDSS), which can effectively reduce the noise, so it is best to buy products with these new technologies. This software is used to reduce the speed of optical drive to reduce noise. For example, NEROdrivespeed program in recording software Nero. After installing NERO, find NERODriveSpeed and execute it. A NERODriveSpeed Options window will appear. Under the "Speed Settings" option, you can set the reading speed value of the optical drive.

V. Noise reduction of the chassis itself

If you pay attention to careful observation, you can find that most noise sources are inside the chassis, so you must not forget the role of the chassis when reducing noise.

1. Wiring in the bookbinding box

For the scattered wiring in the chassis, it is necessary to arrange and bundle it to prevent the wiring from passing through the CPU fan, the North Bridge cooling fan and the graphics card fan. This will not only make the chassis look neat and orderly, but also improve the heat dissipation efficiency and reduce noise.

2. Pay attention to closing the chassis

In order to facilitate plugging and unplugging hardware devices, many friends usually leave the chassis open. Some friends even removed the top and side plates of the chassis, which is euphemistically called: convenient for heat dissipation. I don't know if this is convenient for heat dissipation, but it also makes the noise higher by several grades. Tightly sealed chassis can not only effectively block noise, but also prevent electromagnetic waves from harming human body.

3. Install sound-absorbing device

The simplest way to install sound-absorbing devices for chassis is to use sound-absorbing cotton. First, stick the high-pitched sound-absorbing cotton on the easy-to-disassemble side plate. This kind of sound-absorbing cotton is easy to buy in some video stores, and its irregular wavy surface can make the reflection and absorption of sound more complete. As long as it is cut to a suitable size, it can isolate the noise of 1/3, which is quite significant for the high-frequency noise of various fans. In addition, this kind of sound-absorbing cotton can also be attached to the bottom of the chassis. As for the other side, due to the lack of space, it can be replaced by the foaming material attached to the motherboard, which has a certain absorption effect on bass. In addition, a sound-absorbing device can be installed at the power supply fan to shield the noise emitted by the power supply fan, so as to achieve a perfect fit effect.

4. Be careful of the chassis fan

For the chassis, installing more fans is not only not conducive to heat dissipation, but also easy to interfere with the wind path, resulting in poor heat dissipation. Therefore, in order to ensure the smooth heat dissipation of the chassis, it is necessary to have an intake fan in front of the chassis and an exhaust fan at the back or top. In fact, as long as we build the air duct inside the chassis, fans in other positions can be omitted.
