Definition of Alloy

Definition of an alloy is a substance with metallic properties synthesized by certain methods from two or more metals and metals or nonmetals.

Alloys generally have metallic properties, any element can be used as an alloying element, but a large number of additions are metal elements, the combination and nature of the constituent phases in the alloy play a decisive role in the properties of the alloy, the alloy also occurs a great influence on the performance of the alloy. Alloy through the introduction of different elements in the lattice, can change the crystal structure of the material, hardness, strength, toughness, wear resistance and other physical and mechanical properties. For example, steel is an iron-carbon alloy that can be made to have different strengths and hardnesses by adjusting the carbon content.

Alloys are widely used in manufacturing in areas such as automotive, aerospace, construction, and machinery. For example, aluminum alloys are used in automotive manufacturing to reduce weight and improve fuel efficiency, and steel alloys are used in building structures to provide strength and durability.

Introduction of the uses of alloys:

1, the field of construction: stainless steel alloys are commonly used as building materials for the manufacture of doors, windows, guardrails, stair handrails and so on. Its corrosion resistance can keep the building long-term beauty and stability.

2, chemical field: because of the corrosion resistance of stainless steel alloy, is widely used in the manufacture of chemical equipment. For example, storage tanks, pipelines, reactors and so on.

3, food processing industry: stainless steel alloy has good hygiene properties, will not contaminate food. Therefore, it is widely used in the manufacture of food processing equipment such as food containers, processing machinery.

4, medical equipment: stainless steel alloy has excellent antimicrobial properties and corrosion resistance, commonly used in the manufacture of medical equipment, such as surgical instruments, dental instruments.
