EU RoHS Directive covers the scope of products

1. household appliances

2. lighting appliances

3. IT and telecom equipment

4. power tools

5. hardware fittings

6. low-voltage electrical appliances and electronic components

7. toys, leisure and sports equipment

8.Vending machines

9.Medical, monitoring equipment

10.Consumer equipment

11.Other electrical and electronic equipment

RoHS testing is the European Union Directive on the Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (2011/65/EU), the purpose of RoHS reporting is to restrict the use of chemical substances that have toxic effects in the electrical and electronic equipment; to protect human health and the environment; and to ensure that used electrical and electronic equipment can be easily restored to the environment during recycling or disposal. Compliance with RoHS reporting is a very big challenge for most companies, RoHS reporting restricts the content of some hazardous substances, as an experienced partner, we can help you to conduct RoHS chemical analysis testing for your products.

What are the test items for RoHS reporting? What are the limits?

Metallic materials only need to be tested for four RoHS items

Cadmium (Cd): <100ppm

Pb: <1000ppm

Mercury (Hg): <1000ppm

Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+): <1000ppm

Nonmetallic materials to be tested for six RoHS items

Cadmium (Cd):<100ppm

Lead (Pb):<1000ppm

Hg:<1000ppm

Hexavalent Chromium (Cr6+):<1000ppm

Polybrominated Biphenyls (PBBs):<1000ppm

Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers ( PBDEs):<1000ppm

How long does a RoHS report last?

RoHS reports for common products can be completed in 5-7 days after the customer provides samples and information and pays the testing fee.

How long is a RoHS report valid?

Europe does not strictly regulate the validity period of RoHS report, in the case of RoHS report standard has not been updated and there is no change in the product, RoHS report industry class everyone defaults to one year.

What information is needed for a RoHS report?

1:Preparation of test samples, such as a single material 50 grams -100 grams / sample, the entire sample need to communicate to confirm.

2:Fill in the test application form, mainly fill in: the company's full name, company address, sample name, sample type, etc. To be reflected in the report of all information.

July 1, 2011, the EU Parliament and Council in the EU guan side of the Communiqué issued Directive 2011/65/EU to replace the 2002/95/EC new directive will be 20 days later (i.e., July 21, 2011) came into force.

Directive 2002/95/EC will be repealed as of January 3, 2013, and allied countries will have until January 2, 2013 to update Directive 2011/65/EU into their local law.

According to the EU WEEE&RoHS Directive requirements, the AOV is to split the product according to the material, and test for hazardous substances with different materials respectively. Generally:

*Metal materials need to be tested for four hazardous metal elements such as (Cd Cadmium/Pb Lead/Hg Mercury/Cr6+ Hexavalent Chromium)

*Plastic materials in addition to checking for these four hazardous heavy metal elements need to be tested for Brominated Flame Retardant (Polybrominated Biphenyls PBB/Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers PBDE)

*At the same time, packaging materials made of different materials need to be tested for heavy metals in packaging materials (Polybrominated Diphenyls PBB/Polybrominated Diphenyl Ethers PBDE)

*And packaging materials made of different materials need to be tested separately. Packaging materials for heavy metals test (94/62/EEC)

REACH test is a kind of environmental protection test, meet the "Treaty" Article 57 of one or more of the norms of the substance of the European Union REACH rules can be recognized as "substances of very high concern" (SVHC). Substances" (SVHC), and is included in the "authorization of the Candidate List" (also known as the "Candidate List"), the arrival of the SVHC list.

Sub-metal part and non-metal part, metal part to do REACH 64 items, non-metal part to do REACH 155 items

2, "arrived at the SVHC list" listed substances are as follows:

1. Fits the carcinogenicity, mutagenicity, or repeatable toxicity (CMR) category 1 or 2 substances;

2. Substances that meet the criteria for classification as CMR Category 1 or 2;

2. Persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic (PBT) substances; or very persistent and very bioaccumulative (VpvB) substances;

3. Substances for which there is evidence of similar concerns, such as endocrine disruptors.

3. What is the purpose of REACH testing:

1. Submission of information on hazardous chemicals

2. Evaluation and management of the hazardous nature of chemicals

3. Registration of the chemical for all uses

4. Substances that are less hazardous to health

5. Substances that are less hazardous to the environment

6. support the EU rights bodies to take a quicker approach to the risks and hazards of chemical use

7. improving the competitiveness of EU chemical companies would be a good medicine for economic development

8. develop methods for the assessment of hazardous substances

9. ensure the free circulation of substances in the EU internal market
