Wen Qingli is a writer from the army, and the first time I saw her she was all dressed up in her military uniform and valiant. But we had little interaction, and I rarely read her work. I always thought she was a literary editor of the army, mainly in the graft for other writers. One year I participated in the novel award activity of Guangzhou Literature and Art, and Wen Qingli also had a novel into the final evaluation. The name of the novel was She Rode Away on a Small Barrel. This novel made my eyes light up, and I thought it was the best one among the participating novels. During the judges' discussion, I argued for the first prize to be given to Wen Qingli, and my reasoning seemed to convince most of the judges, and the final voting result was that Wen Qingli's novel won the first prize. It was also this award activity that made me reacquaint myself with Wen Qingli.
I often saw Wen's name in publications, and occasionally I ran into her at a conference, and we would greet each other warmly. But that's all we had, and my understanding of her was superficial. Of course, some of my literary friends in the army introduced me to Wen Qingli, and from what we said, I only knew that she was a very dedicated editor, a very diligent writer, and a qualified soldier. Since the award of Guangzhou Literary Arts, I think I should try to read more novels by Wen Qingli. It is a rare opportunity to edit this issue of "Famous Writers' Sidelights". From the articles of several authors, I saw Wen Qingli's kindness and intelligence, and her literary sentiment. I look forward to seeing her "bounce" towards a higher step.

In a recent period, I focused my time on reading a series of middle grade novels by contemporary female military writer Wen Qingli. Although I have dabbled in both long and short stories, in my opinion, what Wen Qingli has exerted the most effort to date, and what is most representative of her novelistic achievements, is in fact the genre of the middle grade novel. As a military writer, it is naturally Wen Qingli's duty to pay close attention to and express her military life. Although not all the novels will involve military life, but the writer's attention to military life and performance, still left a deep impression on the reader.
For example, the knife in the ear, although the concern for military life is not the main theme of the novel, but the performance of the submarine force to read the hard life is enough to move. Because the novel's main character Ding Jiashu once had a long as thirty years of naval military resume, so, even if due to illness and forced to leave the beloved submarine force, but in the process of talking with the college student Wang Yuzhi, he is still three words from the submarine force life. Precisely because he has always been proud of his submariner's resume, he always talks about life on the submarine in such a tone: "He said, "Do you know what soldiers have the highest requirements? Submariners not only require a high level of culture, but also a high level of psychological quality. Men, of course, to be a submariner." However, only in Wang Yuyi with Ding Jia Shu really came to the submarine field trip, she really understand the life of submarine soldiers in the end how hard, how not easy: "Walking in the submarine, can only cat, the boat on both sides of the pipeline densely covered, instrumentation and equipment standing. The bathroom is very small, because the submarine sewage is easily exposed, everyone has to overcome the number of toilets, you have to drink less water. I saw for the first time the twenty-four hour scale clock, by which the officers and men distinguish the time. There was a perpetual pungent odor of gasoline in the air that made it unbearable for a quarter of an hour." "During the voyage, the officers and soldiers on the submarine can't use electronic devices and the Internet, and being in a confined and small space for a long time is a great challenge to human physiology and psychology. Submariners not only have to endure the high-intensity work on the boat, but also have to withstand the loneliness of deep-sea navigation."
Another example is "the world kissed me with pain" article, although the same other subject matter, but through the advanced deeds of Captain Yang, we can still have an intuitive understanding and grasp of the life of a military school: "Mr. Yang is a good man, he is our captain. That is, the young captain you want to publicize who was the first to stand up and speak wearing a big red flower. He came to class with an IV for us, and when our house flooded, he donated a thousand dollars all by himself. The stories in the storybook, and everyone else's accounts are true. When we started school, he weighed eighty kilograms. In order to bring us up well, he took the lead, learned English, strengthened his body, and hey, he lost weight to seventy kilograms. He lost twenty kilograms. What about twenty kilograms? How much sweat must you sweat?" In this way, at the same time as the image of an advanced instructor is told, the actual living conditions of the military school, but also from the side to get a true display.
But in any case, an objective fact that cannot be denied is that the display of military life, in Wen Qingli's novel creation, generally belongs to the background existence. In comparison with the display of military life, a noteworthy feature of Wen Qingli's novels is her writing about illness. Although not all of them are related to, but Wen Qingli quite a part of the novels, not only are involved in the writing of disease, and these different works of the main character suffers from the same disease, the so-called "multiple neurofibromas".
In Teardrops on Earth, it is Mingming, the child of Liu Wanru's sister. In contrast, the detailed description of the disease "multiple neurofibromas" is in the book "She Flew Away on a Bucket". In this middle-grade novel, the sufferer of this dreadful disease is Rona, a famous reporter for a newspaper: "Why did she suddenly want to commit suicide? Why did she suddenly want to kill herself? What triggered it? Well, it was the night of August 23rd. When I left home, it was about ten o'clock. When I came home, it was eleven o'clock. The triggering cause must be illness. Think about it, she's so ambitious, how can she bear the cruel fact that she can't see or hear? She's been sick for thirteen years, why would she suddenly want to die? Your question is also a mystery to me. I analyzed that she was afraid that she had no hope of getting well, and that she was afraid of a worse future. This disease is called multiple neurofibroma, multiple you know, this neurofibroma, that is to say, wherever there are nerves, may grow. Now the tumor has grown on the optic nerve and the auditory nerve, so I can't see or hear, and it may affect my limbs in the future, so I'm afraid I won't be able to walk. Surgery? Of course I did, risking my life, I did the gamma knife surgery, because of this surgery, I could still see in my right eye, but I lost my eyesight completely. And fibroids, you cut one, you can grow a bunch, like potatoes. Dig up a clump, out comes a bunch." According to the first-person narrator, "I", that is, Professor Ouyang Ming, he once took his wife to seek medical treatment, but the result was nothing. In the words of the doctor, this disease is not even a relatively developed medical conditions of foreign countries have no way to deal with.
Another work related to the fibroma condition is the one we've already mentioned, The Knife in the Ear. Only, unlike previous works that explicitly named fibroma, the writer's description of the related condition in The Knife in the Ear is succinct and full of innuendo: "Here we go again, here we go again, that's something I can already recite. Next surely said he when the Navy for thirty years, wear the waves battle waves, how many times to escape death, it is not easy to raise the deputy division, leaving the submarine, *** not yet in the organ to sit firmly, eyes hula a black, this life story ended abruptly." So, Ding Jia Shu in the end because of what kind of disease and blindness, the novel did not do a specific account. However, if we link to Wen Qingli's other novels, I prefer to understand the disease that Ding Jiashu suffered as the kind of fibroid tumor that has appeared in Wen Qingli's writing many times.
Although it is not unusual to write about illnesses in fictional texts, the fact that the characters in question suffer from the same illness in different texts cannot help but attract a great deal of attention. So, why did Wen Qingli make it necessary for all these people with different occupational statuses to suffer from "multiple neurofibromas"? Although I do not know anything about Wen Qingli's personal situation, I am afraid that I can only explain this from a psychoanalytic point of view. From the psychoanalytic point of view, Wen Qingli's spiritual world, there must be a kind of can be named "multiple neurofibromas" complex. In any case, among her close friends or relatives, there must be someone who not only suffers from this disease, but also suffers from it. Further, this situation not only seriously affects the patient's own survival and mental condition, but also, to a large extent, affects Wen Qingli herself. On the one hand, we certainly admit that there is definitely a situation similar to the "metaphor of illness" emphasized by Susan Sontag in the creation of novels, but on the other hand, we should also be soberly aware of the fact that if the situation is not like the one we analyzed above, then, in any case, I'm afraid that it is not possible for a writer to But on the other hand, we should also realize that if the situation were not as we have analyzed above, then a writer would not have been able to write about such a "stubborn" disease over and over again. Therefore, despite the great risk of speculation, I am still willing to make the above understanding and judgment on Wen Qingli's repeated "fibroid" writing from the perspective of psychoanalysis.
The key point is that Wen Qingli's writing does not stop at the level of writing about illness. Perhaps related to Wen Qingli's female identity, we notice that closely intertwined with the writing of the disease is the writer's exploration and expression of the emotional chaos of the current era. The first point that attracts attention is that, as a terrible disease, "fibroid" will not only bring physical pain to the patient, but will also distort and change his or her heart to a great extent. For example, Lin Zijing, who used to be an outstanding theater actress. As a beautiful woman, she naturally places special emphasis on her daily attire. But all this was completely changed only because of the disease: "Clothes? Perfume? Cosmetics? All of them were her former super favorites, but none of them meant anything to her now. Cosmetics, at the thought of it, her heart felt like it was being poked by a sharp ice pick, and a wave of tearing pain permeated into the branches and knots of her entire body. She said blandly, "I like everything you bought." When her husband told her to give her a gift, is what she liked the whole ten drama collection book CD-ROM when: "The wound is like a layer of salt, heartbreaking pain. She forced herself to press her body against her husband's waist and said, "What a thoughtful gift." Only because at this time Lin Zijing was already in a state of blindness, no matter how beautiful drama CD-ROM can not be watched properly, so her husband sent this special gift will be particularly painful to her heart. She had been invited to her best friend's wedding with great excitement, but ended up going home unhappy because of a child's reckless remark. What kind of words? "Auntie, you are so beautiful, even more beautiful than the bride. Can you take off your glasses and let me see your eyes? They must be beautiful. The teacher said that the eyes are the windows to the soul." It must be admitted that this is a fictional detail that can easily remind us of The Emperor's New Clothes. If the child in that famous fairy tale inadvertently pointed out the fact that the emperor was wearing nothing, what the child inadvertently touched was the reality of Lin Zijing's blindness that she most wanted to hide in public. In a moment of exasperation, the reason why she whisked her sleeve away in a great deal of impudence was precisely because the truth of her blindness due to illness had been inadvertently pierced. In fact, it was precisely because her husband had mistakenly believed that Lin Zijing was not only blind, but also deaf, that he had no qualms about bringing a woman home and ****ing her in the bathroom tub without a care in the world. Here a more or less unbelievable details, is Lin Zi Jing since the evil like hatred in the eyes can not rub sand, then why she can still resist the impulse not to jump out on the spot to poke her husband's betrayal behavior? But in any case, an irrefutable and obvious fact is that, after suffering from the "fibroid" disease and all the serious human torment it caused, Lin Zijing was finally so humiliated that she wanted to hang herself by hanging to make herself become the "eternal Yin Xueyan! "Zhang Ailing destroyed a city in order to fulfill a worldly love, while I, a blind man, have shielded the whole world, I am the eternal Yin Xueyan! Lin Zi Jing thought so, removing the belt from her pajamas." Although it is said that the novel adopts a kind of open ending, about Lin Zijing's suicide or not did not make a specific account, but her suicidal behavior itself has also fully illustrated her emotional world by the disease seriously distorted.
With Lin Zijing's behavior is more or less "similar" to that of Luo Na, the female journalist who eventually committed suicide due to her illness in She Rode Away on a Bucket. This is a middle grade novel with a relatively unusual narrative setting. The first-person narrator, "I" or Ouyang Ming, is a fifty-three-year-old associate professor. From beginning to end, it is Ouyang Ming's courtroom statement in front of a beautiful female judge, Lin Yumeng. Because Ouyang Ming's statement was particularly sincere, he eventually won the heart of the female judge, Lin Yumeng, with such a court statement. Further, the reason why Ouyang Ming has such a large court statement is because after his wife Luo Na committed suicide and died, as a husband, he has the greatest suspicion of murder. From this point of view, this court statement can be regarded as his own statement of innocence. However, please note that while Ouyang Ming defends his innocence, he also portrays Rona's mental state, which has long been distorted by the disease, in a rather graphic way. Undoubtedly, Luo Na's suicide was due to the fact that she could no longer continue to endure the torture of the "fibroid" disease. "Ouyang Ming, you're a son of a bitch, you don't keep your word, you're a coward. She cursed, tucked the covers over her head, and then said, "Ouyang Ming, come on, smother me. Remember that award-winning movie you told me about, Love, directed by Michael Haneke? The husband smothered his paralyzed wife to death and followed this method. Quick, a little pain, and it's all relief." It is precisely because that husband in the movie was so full of genuine love for his wife that he could not bear to let his paralyzed wife continue to suffer from her illness, so he smothered his wife in pain. To express the deep love between man and woman in such an extreme way is exactly where the true meaning of the thought and art of Michael Haneke's Love lies. The reason why Lorna or Ouyang Ming has to specifically mention this award-winning movie masterpiece, while emphasizing the existence of the love between them, in fact, also obviously implies a kind of death ending direction of the novel's story in the future. Faced with his wife's death by suicide, Ouyang Ming, who also functions as the narrator, once made this kind of dispassionate analysis: "I couldn't possibly have harmed her, but I am guilty. Really, I beg you to arrest me. After the incident, I wrote for many days, the reason why she committed suicide, and three times, one, I did not take good care of her, did not put myself in her shoes to communicate with her mind. The two suicides showed that she was mentally broken, and I had the audacity to think that all I had to do was stay with her and keep her safe. I should have let her learn Braille and socialize with her friends. Secondly, she must have sensed that I was having an affair. Three, my son's indifference to her." It is amazing that a husband who is otherwise innocent of any wrongdoing should self-incriminate himself in such a self-indulgent way. To a large extent, this may also be the very mystery that enabled him to win the heart of the female judge, Lin Yumeng, in the end. But no matter what, an indisputable fact is that after suffering from the pain of the disease for so many years, Luo Na's spiritual world has indeed been seriously distorted. This is evident in her clearly perverted *** behavior before she committed suicide. The fact that a particularly mild-mannered journalist suddenly became insane in bed is a strong reflection of a serious imbalance in her inner spiritual world. In a sense, the suicide of the heroine, who suffers from "fibroma," is a direct result of the imbalance in her spiritual world.
Compared to the above two works, a more complex portrayal of the emotional world is the middle grade novel A Knife in the Ear, which is completed by a combination of multiple first-person narrators. As a vice-division commander in the navy, Ding Jiashu's serious mental imbalance is a logical consequence of his unforeseen illness and blindness, which forced him to retire from the army. Because of this, he will have all kinds of suspicion of his wife, cold smoke: "Is it so that you have an excuse not to go home? You want to fly to which pheasant nest? He tottered and threw away my hand and stood up." The reason why Cold Smoke has to hire a female college student, Wang Jieyi, to come to the house specifically to take care of Ding Jiashu is precisely because of her husband's serious imbalance of mentality. However, as a wife, Cold Smoke did not even expect that the arrival of the female college student, Wang Jieyi, would in the end come close to leading to the unpleasant consequences of the Hatchet. Originally thought that there would be an insurmountable age gap between Ding Jiashu and Wang Yizhi, but did not expect that, in the end, because Wang Yizhi strongly assisted Ding Jiashu in the creation of the novel, the two of them even reached a rather deep affection. Such a deep affection, after being detected by the jealous Cold Smoke, will naturally be strongly rejected. The direct result of the rejection is the forced removal of Wang Jie. At such a time, the mental imbalance is the body has been healthy cold smoke himself: "in the past his mouth is not moving submarine, now he has a mouth, carry with him to write the book and Wang Yizhi. Devil Wang Jiao." The phrase "the devil Wang Jie" fully highlights the extreme disgust that cold smoke has for Wang Jie. In the face of such a situation, cold smoke for a moment into the point of confusion: "He fell in love with another woman, I left him, is not exactly the opportunity? But why is it so hard? Could it be that the little girl's love has made me discover his potential value? Or is it that I subconsciously have a sense of superiority that won't allow others to take possession of their things? I have been living with Ka Shu for many years. Although we can't talk about being like glue, we still respect each other." Although the text seems concise, what Wen Qingli actually writes about are several different layers of emotional relationships. First, after Ding Jashu's illness, his wife, Cold Smoke, who had been living with him for many years, had clearly entertained the idea of abandoning him because of an unspeakable aversion. Secondly, although she had already abandoned Ding Jashi, once she realized that Wang Jiashi was emotionally close to him, she immediately developed a strong sense of discomfort and felt particularly uncomfortable, indicating that Cold Smoke still had love for her husband deep down in her heart. Third, to a certain extent, cold smoke of this complex mentality, is no longer just a husband and wife love, the bone is a kind of their own things do not allow others to comment on the extreme selfishness of the mind. Since once belonged to their own, that even if they have been no longer love, but also never allowed to be owned by others, such as the king of jade. In fact, it is precisely under the leadership of such a complex mentality that Coldsmoke, in her capacity as mistress of the house, gives her expulsion order to Wang Jie, and causes her husband, Ding Jiashu, to fall into the double predicament of survival and spirituality again.
It cannot be emphasized enough that even in those middle-aged novels that do not deal with illness, Wen Qingli also pays attention to and expresses various kinds of emotional chaos. One of the representative works in this regard is "What's in the Dark", which is more or less a game. The origin of the story is an Italian movie called "Perfect Strangers". The movie "is about a group of good friends who are having a party and who suggests that we all put our cell phones aside, turn on the speakers, and see who calls in a few moments." In this way, with the help of several cell phones whose speakers are turned on, the hidden human secrets of each of the people present are gradually revealed: "As soon as someone's secret is revealed, someone immediately stands up to the moral high ground of censure. The next moment, one's own secret comes out, and one is immediately unjustified. This is human nature. When the fire doesn't reach you, you will always look at other people's suffering, even your own friends, with the feeling of a spectator. The plot is reversed one step at a time, and what was a victim in the last second becomes a cheater in the twinkling of an eye." Professional writer Jiang Shiyu and journalist Liu Yiran, a pair of girlfriends, the "husband trial" behavior with prominent human experimentation, is the result of the film's direct revelation. The so-called "husband-testing" is a human experiment designed to test the fidelity of their husbands' love. Specifically, Liu Yiran surprises Jiang Shiyu with a somewhat "ridiculous" suggestion: "Shiyu, I just had an idea, do you dare to do an experiment with me? For example, let's call each other's husbands, say we are drunk, and let them come to pick us up. See what happens, maybe, it's even better than that movie of yours." Although Liu Yiran's suggestion was firmly opposed by Jiang Shiyu, in the end she was unable to overcome Liu Yiran's obstinacy. A rather "absurd" human nature experiment, and thus opened the curtain. So, what is the result of the test? "The result of the test is: two men on his wife's best friend are interested in, even if the good reputation of Chen Zhiyong, is also the first promised, before asking his wife. Neither woman had a good feeling in her heart." But this, however, was only the beginning of the ordeal, and more serious unpleasant consequences were yet to come. First of all, Jiang Shiyu strongly suspected that her husband and Liu Yiran because of the story of that night has been emotionally derailed: "went to the balcony, she once again determined that her husband has had an affair, it must be with Liu Yiran, for three reasons: First, the balcony on the clothes her husband collected, are folded, but their own underwear is hanging there alone. Second, a morning, Liu Yiran did not make a phone call. Although it was just a logical reasoning with no factual basis, Jiang Shiyu, who had always acted on her intuition, was convinced that her judgment was correct. As a matter of fact, it is also under the strong support of such a kind of psychological logic that Jiang Shiyu finally takes the step of cheating on her husband, Chen Zhiyong, with Liu Yiran. Although at the end of the novel, Chen Zhiyong sends a text message to emphasize that the other two participants in the human experiment are also in the same state of derailment, in fact, it is difficult to prove whether the content of this text message is true or not. On the one hand, it is the content of the text message that cannot be proved, on the other hand, Jiang Shiyu's cheating with Chen Zhiyong is not only a conclusive fact, but also after the cheating, at the very least, Jiang Shiyu herself, who has developed a strong sense of guilt, has in fact been in a state of some kind of emotional torment. What's in the black? After such a human nature experiment with obvious assumptions, the writer finally proves that human nature indeed cannot stand the test. With the help of this human experiment, what Wen Qingli has explored is actually a kind of universal emotional chaos in the current era.
Next, our focus will return to the previously mentioned middle grade novel, Teardrops on Earth. Only when we return to this work, the focus has shifted from Ming Ming, who suffers from "multiple neurofibromas," to another character named Minzi. It is important to emphasize that this Minako is a character who is not very bright. At the beginning of the novel, this Minzi has already been sent to a nursing home for secretly peeping at his sister-in-law's bath. In this way, the story of Liu Wanru's special visit to Min Zi happens. As a matter of fact, it is also in the short process of visiting Minzi, and later taking him out of the nursing home, that two aspects of details deserve our utmost attention. One is Minzi's concern for other people in the nursing home: "When Sis was picking up the labels, Minzi walked around the room, patting this old man on the shoulder and that old man on the head, and giving out the bananas and kiwis that Liu Wanru and the others had brought him. When he gave them to the man in the wheelchair, he followed Liu Wanru's example, peeled the skin and said, "Eat, fragrant, soft and gentle." Another detail is that when Ming Ming was sitting on the floor and making a lot of noise, the one who finally stepped in to be friendly with him and calm his manic mood was this brain-dead Min Zi, who is Min Zi? Who is Minako? Minako is just a person who is not awake in the eyes of a normal person. But he is such an unintelligent person who is able to take care of a group of people in a nursing home and make friends with Ming Ming, who is suffering from an illness. Therefore, in my personal understanding, Moon Ching-Li's discovery and portrayal of the character of Min-Zi is actually something else. The emergence of Min Zi's image is a clear sign of hope for redemption.
Finally, we can't leave out Wen Qingli's middle grade novel, Auntie Yanzhuan. This middle grade novel is remarkable, first of all, because the writer himself in another work called "Golden Age", once in a "meta-novel" way to specifically mention this novel: "Aunt Yanzhuan": this novel is very strange, is it written by you? It amazes me, the writing is getting more and more sophisticated. However, one verse is misquoted. Your husband doesn't know anything about literature, so I guess he can't point out the problem if he reads it. But if you show it to me, I'll make your novel reach ninety points. Now an eighty-point manuscript, sent to a provincial journal, I think is a bit of a pity." Please note that the writer is skillfully using the mouth of Xiao Nabo, the first love of writer Liu Qingyang, to tell the above passage. But no matter how the writer uses the blindfold method, which a kind of husband since the existence of the meaning of the road, naturally indisputable. At the very least, it is an undeniable fact that Moon Ching-Li herself is highly satisfied with the work "Auntie's Elegant Tale". Combined with the writer's self-assessment, in my opinion, The Legend of the Nun should be regarded as one of Wen Qingli's works with the highest degree of ideological and artistic fulfillment so far.
The success of the ideological art of The Legend of the Nun is firstly reflected in the special setting of the narrative style. Although the first-person narrative has long been commonplace, but the narrator "I" is set as a woman in the process of growth, but also to the novel writing significantly more difficult. At the beginning of the novel, the narrator, named Pinkie, is just a young girl who doesn't know anything about anything. Although she can sense the difference in her parents' attitude towards her aunt, and the embarrassment and hardship of her aunt, who has returned to her brother and sister-in-law to make a living due to the unfortunate death of her aunt in the navy, she, as a child, is unable to make sense of all the details. But by the time her aunt comes to Sanya for some reason, Fanny is already an active member of the Navy. Therefore, in the process of narration, how to be able to grasp the appropriate proportion and scale, also constitutes the biggest test of Wen Qingli. In fact, it is through the successful setting of a first-person narrator that the writer has portrayed the aunt as a modern woman with considerable human depth.
As a young woman, my aunt once enjoyed a happy life by marrying her husband, who was a soldier in the navy. Unexpectedly, this soldier husband died tragically due to a walking tractor accident. After his death, the widowed aunt was forced to return to her brother and sister-in-law to eke out a living. As a result, she was often treated badly by her sister-in-law, which made sense. In the end, she had no choice but to marry a miner named Zhang Wenzheng. Since the aunt's re-marriage was very reluctant, the emotional and spiritual pain that she experienced as a result was also a logical thing, and therefore, the aunt's subsequent divorce was understandable. Unexpectedly, the miner's uncle did not agree to the aunt's request for divorce.
