The 23rd Hospital of the Chinese People's Liberation Army was built in 1935, which was the earliest hospital established after the Long March of the Red Army, and was named "Shaanxi-Gansu-Ningxia Border Region Hospital" at that time, and the first director was Fu Lianzhang, a senior medical officer. The hospital had participated in the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Resistance Against the United States and North Korea with the army, and was stationed in Hohhot after returning to China in 1953. The hospital is a comprehensive third-class A-class hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching and scientific research. It has the Beijing Military Region Immunity Detection and Research Center, Beijing Military Region Key Discipline Burns and Plastic Surgery Department, Beijing Military Region Family Planning Eugenics Technology Center, Autonomous Region Burns and Plastic Surgery and Orthopedic Center, Autonomous Region Blindness Prevention and Treatment Center. It has been awarded the title of National Baby-Friendly Hospital and National People's Hospital.
