Compared with traditional asynchronous motors, permanent magnet synchronous motors have the following characteristics.
1) High efficiency, high power factor and energy saving. Using permanent magnet instead of electric excitation does not require reactive excitation current, which can significantly improve the power factor. The stator and rotor are synchronized, and the rotor core has no iron loss. The efficiency of PMSM is higher than that of electrically excited synchronous motor and asynchronous motor. Moreover, it can maintain high power factor and efficiency in the rated load range of 25% Yao 1.20%, so that the energy-saving effect of the motor is more obvious when it runs under light load, and it can greatly save electric energy in long-term use.
2) Compared with asynchronous motor, PMSM has lower inertia and faster response to a certain motor torque, that is, the torque/inertia ratio is high.
3) Small size and light weight With the continuous application of high-performance permanent magnet materials, the power density of PMSM is greatly improved, and compared with asynchronous motors with the same capacity, its size and weight are greatly reduced.
4) It has a wide range of applications and high reliability, and has been applied in the fields of medical devices, chemicals, textiles, instruments and meters. Compared with DC motor and electric excitation synchronous motor, permanent magnet synchronous motor has no brush, which simplifies the structure and improves the reliability.
