Introduction of Weihai Wendeng Center Hospital

Weihai Wendeng Central Hospital was founded in the beginning of 1941, the most difficult time of the Anti-Japanese War, when it was called Donghai Hospital. After decades and generations of hard work, to the establishment of prefecture-level Weihai City in October 1987, the hospital was renamed Weihai Wendeng Central Hospital. With more than 1,300 employees, of which nearly 800 are officially on board, and 1,200 open beds, the hospital is a comprehensive prefecture-level hospital integrating medicine, teaching and research, and was certified as a Grade 3B hospital by the Shandong Provincial Department of Health in 1994, and was established as a Baby-Friendly Hospital and a Network Hospital of International Emergency Rescue Center (IERC) by the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1999, and approved as a Weifang Hospital by the Shandong Provincial Department of Health in 2003. In 2003, it was approved by Shandong Provincial Department of Health as a hospital not directly affiliated to Weifang Medical College. 2004, the hospital passed the ISO9001 quality management system certification. 2013, it was validated by Shandong Provincial Department of Health as a Grade 3A hospital.
