66.53 billion yuan for epidemic prevention and control
Li Bin, deputy director of the National Health Commission (NHC), introduced the situation related to the state's financial expenditure for epidemic prevention work. In terms of financial support, on January 23, the Ministry of Finance (MOF) urgently allocated 1 billion yuan of subsidies for the prevention and control of the new coronavirus-infected pneumonia outbreak in Hubei province to support the province's work related to the prevention and control of the outbreak. Immediately after that, the Ministry of Finance also urgently allocated 4.4 billion yuan of subsidies for the prevention and control of the 2020 epidemic of new coronavirus-infected pneumonia to support work related to the prevention and control of the epidemic across the country. Among them, an additional 500 million yuan was allocated to Hubei Province.
Also, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) issued 300 million yuan of investment within the central budget to support the construction of a new hospital project in Wuhan, Hubei Province, focusing on the purchase of necessary medical equipment. In addition, the Ministry of Finance and the National Health and Wellness Commission issued 60.33 billion yuan in advance to support basic public **** health services and grassroots epidemic prevention and control work around the country.
