Now with the popularity of smartphones and the increasing perfection of short video delivery platforms, short video creators can directly use their cell phones to shoot short videos and upload them to short video platforms. And many short video platforms have built-in short video shooting and editing functions, greatly reducing the threshold of short video production.
There are three advantages of using smartphones to shoot short videos: they are lightweight and easy to carry; they are simple to operate, and novices can learn quickly; and they are easy to share directly, making it easy to form interactions.
Of course, there are some disadvantages to shooting short videos with a cell phone, such as the lack of camera clarity, which is fine for simple portraits and difficult for complex scenes. For example, the anti-shake function in the cell phone is a bit poor, and even many phones do not have this function, and there is much shaking in the shooting.
2. DSLR cameras
In recent years, DSLR cameras have become the more commonly used equipment for short video shooting, which is because DSLR cameras have three major advantages: relatively lightweight body, more professional image quality, and cheaper compared to video cameras.
So how do you shoot video with a DSLR? The camera body is set to start the camera mode button, of course, different DSLR video shooting buttons or shooting functions are different, here in view of the length of the reason not to tell.
There are two words you need to know when shooting with a DSLR: resolution and frame rate.
(1) Resolution
Before shooting a video, you need to choose a resolution, and there are several common resolutions: HD 720P (1280 720), 2K (1920 1080), and 4K (4096 2160). The higher the resolution, the clearer the picture quality and the more storage space it takes up.
(2) Frame rate
Frame rate refers to the number of frames per second to refresh the picture, i.e. the speed at which a series of pictures are displayed on the screen. Before shooting a short video, you need to choose the video format, which includes the frame rate. At present, there are two main video formats: one is the video standard of Europe and other countries (regions) - PAL, i.e., 50 fps as the standard frame rate of 720P HD video, 25 fps as the standard frame rate of broadcasting; the other is the video standard of the United States and other countries (regions) - NTSC, i.e., 60 fps. -NTSC, i.e. 60 fps as the standard rate of 720P HD video and 30 fps as the standard frame rate for broadcasting. And the higher the frame rate, the clearer the video and the more memory it will take up. Generally speaking, a short video shot at 12 fps is already very smooth, so if the requirements are not high, you don't need such a high frame rate.
3. Camera
When shooting TV programs, we often use a camera, which is because the camera is excellent in video effect. If you need to make polished short videos, you have to use a camcorder, and by camcorder here I mean a business-grade camcorder, not a home DV camcorder. Because it is more professional video shooting, there are a lot of accessories that go with it, such as video camera power supply, video camera cable (used to connect the video camera and VCR), camera light, color monitor (used to ensure the color of the shooting screen), tripod (used to stabilize the shooting equipment) and so on.
4. microphone
In the short video shooting process often use some auxiliary tools, microphone is one of them. With the help of microphone, we can improve the audio quality of short videos. Some of the more popular brands and models are Tesco PC-K820, Phonak T8-2, and Lenovo UM10C.
Of course, there are many microphone products on the market, so you can buy them according to your shooting needs.
5. railcar
In the shooting of location, dynamic scenes, often use railcars. There are many types of railcars, such as manned electric railroad, portable manned railcars, uniform speed electric railcars and pedal electric railcars.
6. Drone
For the need to shoot, in some scenes need to use aerial drone shooting. For example, from a high altitude overlooking some of the vast scenes need to use aerial drone.
