According to the policy issued by Beijing, the classification criteria of eleven kinds of drugs are: class I drugs are necessary for hospitals, class II drugs are acute and severe drugs, class III drugs are anticancer drugs such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy, class IV drugs are psychotropic drugs under dynamic management, class V drugs are narcotic and analgesic drugs, class VI drugs are intravenous infusion preparations, class VII drugs are diagnostic reagents and medical devices, class VIII drugs are injections of traditional Chinese medicine, class IX drugs are respiratory drugs and class X drugs.
Beijing will implement dynamic management of eleven kinds of drugs, strictly examine and approve the purchase and inventory of drugs in hospitals, restrict the sales methods of drugs, and require hospitals to conduct special research and quality control on these drugs to ensure the safety and effectiveness of drugs. In addition, Beijing will establish a prescription management platform to supervise hospital prescriptions, accurately monitor drug use, strengthen drug market supervision, and crack down on counterfeit and shoddy drugs. By implementing these measures, Beijing can better regulate the drug market, ensure the safety of patients' medication and improve the quality of medical care.
