What is Saudi Arabia Standards Organization SASO

SASO is the acronym for Saudi Arabian Standards Organization "SAUDI ARABIAN STANDARDS ORGANIZATION". It establishes import standards and import procedures, and specifies identification, inspection methods and inspection and testing standards for all imported commodities, products, as well as those related to measures, scales, trademarks, commodities and products.

All consumer products (that can be used by adults and children in the home, office or other places of leisure) exported to Saudi Arabia are classified as regulated products. Examples include: household appliances, kitchen power tools, perfumes, cosmetics, jewelry, etc. All motor vehicles and their accessories, all building materials, including paints and coatings, etc. The current ICCP*** covers 66 products in five categories: Category 1: Toys, Category 2: Appliances and Electronics, Category 3: Automotive Products, Category 4: Chemical Products, Category 5: Other Products (**** range of 10 products). Do not belong to the consumer products: medical instruments; medical products; food; military products.
