Smart card reader, also known as IC card reader, is a device for reading and writing smart cards. According to the different types of card reading, smart card readers can be divided into contact, non-contact and dual-interface readers.
Usually, the smart card reader is connected to the computer through communication lines, and the communication mode is mainly USB interface. Readers with RS232 interface still have a certain number of users.
The contact card reader basically follows the international standard ISO78 16, and the contactless card reader follows the interface standard ISO 14443.
There are two kinds of card readers related to industrial applications. One is to read and write financial smart cards, which need to meet the relevant industry standards of PBOC2.0 and the relevant standards of international organizations such as EMV(Europay, MasterCard, VISA). The other is to read and write expressway smart cards, including smart cards related to two-piece OBU in ETC (national expressway toll standard, GB2085 1), in expressway toll lanes (including unattended lanes). Strictly speaking, the national expressway smart card reader such as Yuetong Card Reader is actually an electronic wallet charger (equivalent to a POS machine), which basically meets the national financial standards.
Smart card reader is used to read and write smart cards. Contactless smart card reader is a simple and easy-to-use M 1 card reader, which can read and write MifareS50 card and S70 card. It adopts the core technology of D8, and realizes the connection with PC and related equipment through RS232 serial port or USB port. USB adopts driveless technology. Has the characteristics of simplicity, stability and low cost. The driver development packages of various platforms are provided at random, and the accompanying demo program can operate all the functions of the RF card and automatically test the card operation. D3 smart card reader is an essential front-end processing equipment for developing smart card-related products and system integration. Its rich and perfect interface functions can be easily applied to various deductions (such as charging parking fees) in industry and commerce, telecommunications, postal services, taxation, banking, insurance, medical treatment, meeting sign-in, Internet cafe management, gas station and parking lot management.
Second, the smart card reader instructions
1. It is necessary to pay attention to the frequency range of reader equipment to see if it meets the frequency specification of the project site;
2. Understand whether the maximum transmitting power of the reader and the matched antenna exceed the standard;
3. See how many antenna ports the reader has, according to whether the application needs a multi-interface reader;
4. Whether the communication interface meets the project requirements;
5. In order to know the reading distance and anti-collision index, the reading distance index should be clear about what antenna and tag to test; To prevent collision, it is necessary to make clear what labels are read in what order and for how long;
6. An RFID application system is not only related to the reader, but also related to the tag, antenna, the material of the tagged item, the moving speed of the tagged item and the surrounding environment. Before determining the equipment, it is best to simulate the field situation for testing and verification to ensure that the product can really meet the application requirements;
7. Continuously test the stability of equipment under simulated conditions to ensure long-term stable operation.
