Lancing College is an outstanding independent and co-educational boarding school. The school was founded in 1848 and is located in the South Downs branch, south of the sea and north of the Weald, near Brighton, about an hour's drive from London. The school occupies an area of 550 acres (about 2,220,000 square meters), including a 40-acre (about 160,000 square meters) school farm. The main building is imposing and atmospheric. In recent years, a new library, technology center and dance studio have been built. The various previous laboratories are also being gradually refurbished and renovated in an effort to meet the needs of modern teaching. The school has a group of rigorous and experienced teachers with a teacher-student ratio of 1:8. The school will tailor its teaching to the characteristics and interests of each student.

In 2015, Lancing College was ranked 149th in the UK private secondary school A-LEVEL exam results school rankings, with an ab rate of 80.56%.

Accommodation and food

The school has nine student dormitories, four of which are for girls and five for boys. Several people*** use the dormitories. 11th and 12th and 13th year students can have separate study rooms. There are common rooms in each dormitory building, equipped with TV, internet, VIDEO, etc. Each halls of residence is managed by dedicated staff who are committed to providing all students with an excellent accommodation and living environment. The halls of residence also organize a number of activities outside of the classroom to help students make connections and increase communication.  The school cafeteria provides delicious meals for all students, with a wide selection of salads and vegetables to ensure balanced nutrition, as well as a variety of snacks and refreshments, and afternoon tea.

Medical Services

The school has a well-equipped medical center where all new boarding students are registered. This allows the student's health to be tracked and managed in the future. The school also offers medical courses to help students understand the importance of healthy eating, personal exercise and staying in shape.

Daily Schedule

The school has classes five and a half days a week. At weekends, a variety of activities and programs are arranged for boarding students to ensure that their weekends are colorful and fulfilling.  The school arranges pick-up and drop-off at the airport at the beginning and end of each semester.  Extracurricular Activities In addition to a wide range of sports, the school offers a variety of other extracurricular activities such as swimming, golf, dance, art, music, theater, boxing, karate, rock climbing, fishing, surfing, cooking, astronomy, and more.

Community Service

Every Wednesday afternoon, the school organizes community service for students. Volunteer your time to an elderly home, an orphanage, or others in need. The purpose of the community service is to enhance the students' love for the things around them and to help them develop good behavior and virtues.

School Farm

Blue Star Academy has a farm of over 40 acres. A variety of sheep, pigs, and poultry are available on the farm for students to raise in captivity. It is especially important for students majoring in biology, geography and business studies. It helps students learn about the growth and reproduction of various crops and animals in the field. The farm is open to students every day, giving them a chance to get in touch with nature and breathe fresh air while attending classes.

Ranked in the top 30 nationally overall

Academic rankings only partially illustrate the school's success, and the Times' overall ranking of 1,000 schools across the UK, as outlined on August 25, 2015, placed The Blue Star School in 27th place, the only Sussex school to be ranked in the top 30, and the only Sussex school to be ranked in the top 125 of independent boarding schools. Nationally, only three independent boarding schools were ranked ahead of Blue Star. The rankings also show that Blue Star College is also top in Sussex for the percentage of A levels achieved by its A-Level students. The school has more than 10 percent of its students getting into Oxbridge every year.

Blue Star Academy was ranked 15th in the top classes listed by the Financial Times on August 25/26, 2015. It is the only Sussex school to appear in this ranking, placing above all other independent boarding schools.

Over the last 3 years, Blue Star Academy has achieved an average of 83.07% A+B grades at A-Level and an average ranking place of 92, the highest of any school in Sussex. Blue Star is also the only Sussex school to have achieved over 80% A+B grades in the last 4 years.
