Polytetrafluoroethylene medical membrane equipment

The main difference between them in daily chemical application is solvent resistance.

Although PVDF contains fluorine, it has poor solvent resistance and can be dissolved in NMP and DMF, so it is better to make self-dry film or release coating with low surface tension. PTFE is almost insoluble in most known organic solvents at room temperature, so it tends to be in a special environment that requires strong corrosion resistance. Like PVDF, PFOA can also be used as an auxiliary agent to make an aqueous dispersion. Generally speaking, the latter is compatible with the former-PTFE must be suitable where PVDF can be used, but PVDF may not be competent for NMP where PTFE is suitable.

But as far as these markets are concerned, the development of PTFE has just started, and most hollow fiber membranes on the market still will not replace PVDF in recent years.
