How to Become a Dentist in Canada

Also, if you start here in medical school, it usually takes 8 to 10 years for everything to go smoothly to graduate and get licensed to become a doctor. Some disciplines require longer and higher degrees and qualifications. Being a practicing dentist in Canada comes with a good annual salary, just like any other physician doctor. Digital and Clinical Examinations must be passed in order to obtain a license. Application forms are available at the above address. Dentists who have immigrated to Canada from overseas and wish to rejoin the profession are required to obtain a recognized credential from the National Board of Dental Examiners of Canada in order to practice. Applicants must have a dental degree from an accredited university and be proficient in English or French, the official languages of Canada. After receiving the Certificate of Accreditation, the applicant must also meet the following requirements in order to be licensed: A dental degree from a local university A dental degree from a foreign university must be on the World Health Organization list, equivalent to a dental degree from a Canadian university Fluency in English or French The applicant must have never violated the Code of Ethics of the Dental Profession The applicant must be a Canadian citizen, an immigrant, or be on a work visa. The Dental Examination Board exam is divided into a written exam and a three-step clinical exam, which must be taken in order. If a candidate fails the first step, he/she will not be eligible to take the second step and the fees paid in advance will be refunded for the unexamined part of the examination. As the question paper is in either English or French, candidates should be reasonably fluent in English or French to be able to cope with the examination. The written examination is divided into six subjects: 1) Oral and general drug knowledge, oral diseases, disorders, radiotherapy 2) Dental surgery and nerve management of teeth 3) Fabrication of removable or fixed braces and denture bridges 4) Children's dental care and bracing techniques 5) Periodontal disease, oral hygiene nursing and patient education 6) Oral surgery, control of patients' pain and emotionally disturbed operations Each paper has one hundred Multiple choice questions. The first part of the examination is the filling work for the dummy model, which lasts for two days; the second part of the examination is divided into two steps, the first step is to analyze the progress of the patient and the method of coping with the patient (written examination), and the second step is to appraise the function of the patient's teeth, facial muscles, and the jaw bone in conjunction with each other, which lasts for two and a half days; and the last part of the examination is the filling of the teeth for the old patient in his own hands and radiotherapy for the patient in his own hands, which lasts for two and a half days. The last part is self-prepared elderly dental fillings, and self-prepared patients for radiation therapy, this part of two and a half days.
