Types of atherosclerosis detectors and detection methods

1, pulse wave velocity detection (baPWV detection), ankle-brachial index (ABI) detection and brachial ankle index (BAI).

2, pulse wave velocity detection (baPWV).

3, Pulse waveform analyzer or sphygmomanometer with blood pressure waveform analysis.

4, Arterial intima-media thickness and arterial plaque testing.

5, CT, MRI and other imaging tests.

6, Angiographic testing.

The first three methods are very meaningful in early atherosclerosis detection, and studies have confirmed that the combination of peripheral vascular PWV testing and HRV testing is more responsive to early cardiovascular disease information. The last three methods are generally used after the symptoms of atherosclerosis appear.
