There are several types of medical institutions according to their types.

Medical institutions are classified as:

1. General hospitals, traditional Chinese medicine hospitals, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine hospitals, ethnic medicine hospitals, specialized hospitals and rehabilitation hospitals;

2. Maternal and Child Health Hospital;

3. Central hospitals, township hospitals and street hospitals;

4. sanatorium;

5. comprehensive outpatient department, specialist outpatient department, traditional Chinese medicine outpatient department, integrated traditional Chinese and western medicine outpatient department and ethnic medicine outpatient department;

6. Clinics, Chinese medicine clinics, ethnic medicine clinics, health clinics, infirmary, health care centers and health stations;

7. Village clinic;

8. First aid center and first aid station;

9. Clinical inspection center;

1. Specialized disease prevention hospitals, specialized disease prevention institutes and specialized disease prevention stations;

11. Nursing homes and nursing stations;

12. Other medical institutions.

The conditions that a declaration should meet as a designated medical institution for medical insurance are as follows:

1. Planning the establishment of medical institutions in the whole region;

2. Meet the evaluation standards of medical institutions;

3. Abide by the national laws, regulations and standards on medical service management, and have a sound and perfect medical service management system;

4. Strictly implement the policies on medical services and medicines stipulated by the national, provincial and municipal price departments, and pass the supervision and inspection by the price departments;

5. Strictly implement the provisions of medical insurance policies, formulate an internal management system suitable for medical insurance management, establish a medical insurance management organization, and equip necessary management personnel and equipment.

Individual medical practitioners and Chinese medicine practitioners who employ auxiliary personnel engaged in medical technical work must receive professional technical training and obtain a certificate of conformity, which shall be submitted to the issuing authority for examination and approval. Non-medical technicians are not allowed to engage in medical technical work.
