The school was founded in 1951, formerly known as Jiaozuo Health School of Plain Province, and then changed its name, relocated and expanded several times, through Zhengzhou Medical College, Zhengzhou Municipal School of Hygiene, and was approved by the People's Government of Henan Province to set up the Zhengzhou College of Health and Health Professions in 2018.
As of April 2021, the school covers an area of 623.7 acres, with a planned construction area of 275,000 square meters; it has three teaching departments and four teaching divisions, with 14 specialized majors; there are more than 7,000 students and 300 teaching staff.

Research Achievements
In 2021, the school declared that seven research projects of Henan Provincial Department of Education were approved and established, six research projects of medical education of Henan Provincial Health Commission were approved and established, and two research projects of Henan Provincial Federation of Social Sciences were approved and established; declared and approved the completion of medical education of the Henan Provincial Health Commission and won four prizes for excellent achievements. (second prize 3, third prize 1).
There is one research project result award of Henan Provincial Federation of Social Science Circles, one project completion of Henan Provincial Education Department's education science planning project, and one project completion of Henan Provincial Federation of Social Science Circles' research project approved; 46 CN-level papers were published throughout the year***, and 19 national patents were applied for.
