Radioactive experimental waste disposal basic way

Basic ways to dispose of radioactive experimental waste are as follows:

1. Concentration and storage;

2. Placement and decay, in order to provide enough time for the radioactive nuclei to decay without causing environmental hazards;

3. Dilution and discharge, so that the radioactive level of the waste is lowered to the allowable level and discharged into the environment to be dissipated. Below, discharged into the environment and can be dissipated.

Information Expansion:

I. Disposal of radioactive experimental waste is as follows:

1. Before disposing of used sealed radioactive sources, solid waste containing unsealed radioisotopes and waste liquids, it must be declared to the school's Facilities and Laboratory Management Division and go through the relevant formalities. It is strictly prohibited to pile up, bury, burn or discard radioactive waste sources or decommissioned sources, radioactive waste and waste radiation devices;

2. Used sealed radioactive sources, solid waste containing non-sealed radioisotopes and waste liquids should be sent to storage in a timely manner in accordance with the regulations. Radioactive radioactive devices to be scrapped must be approved by the unit and the Equipment and Laboratory Management Division, and the radioactive source must be removed by professional personnel before scrapping, and no treatment shall be carried out without removing the radioactive source;

3. Before handling used sealed radioactive sources, solid wastes containing non-sealed radioisotopes and waste liquids, each unit shall classify them in accordance with the national standards, and record the types, nuclide names, quantities, and waste liquids. Type, nuclide name, quantity, activity, date of acquisition, state (gas, liquid, solid), physical and chemical properties (combustible, non-combustible) and other information;

4. After the disposal of the used sealed radioactive sources, solid wastes containing non-sealed radioisotopes and waste liquids, and the waste radiographic devices, they shall be reported to the host unit and the Administration of Equipment and Laboratory Management Office for record keeping and cancelation in a timely manner.

Two, the legal basis: "Chinese People's **** and the State Solid Waste Pollution Prevention and Control Law," Article 3

The State of the prevention and control of solid waste pollution of the environment, the implementation of the reduction of the amount of solid waste generated and hazardous, full and rational use of solid waste and the principle of harmless disposal of solid waste, and to promote cleaner production and circular economic Development. The State adopts economic and technological policies and measures conducive to the comprehensive utilization of solid waste activities, and fully recycles and rationally utilizes solid waste.

The State encourages and supports the adoption of measures conducive to the protection of the environment for the centralized disposal of solid wastes, and promotes the development of industries for the prevention and control of environmental pollution by solid wastes.
