PekingUnionMedicalCollege (Peking Union Medical College) is the only national key medical university directly under the National Health and Wellness Commission of People's Republic of China (PRC). It has an integrated management system with China Academy of Medical Sciences, and is a national medical science academic center and comprehensive scientific research institution in China.
20 19 February official website of the college shows that the college has 18 research institutes (and 5 branches), 7 clinical hospitals, 6 colleges and 1 graduate schools. There are 654 in-service doctoral tutors and 845 master tutors.
There are 4726 students of all kinds, including 3862 graduate students (82%), 628 undergraduates and adult undergraduates (13%) and 236 junior college students (5%). There are 6 directly affiliated hospitals, 1 * * * hospitals.
After several historical stages, such as private Peking Union Medical College, China Union Medical College, China Capital Medical University and China Union Medical College, the school was officially renamed Peking Union Medical College on May, 2007.
In order to explore the innovative mode of higher medical education reform in China, Peking Union Medical College and Tsinghua University began to cooperate in running schools in September 2006. They can use "Peking Union Medical College-Tsinghua University Medical Center" as the second name at the same time, and rely on Tsinghua University to enter the ranks of "21Project" and "985 Project" platform construction.
