Is PC plastic poisonous?
Generally speaking, plastic products are toxic, but if you use them for a short time, harmful substances will not be released, such as disposable mineral water bottles.
However, if you use it repeatedly for a long time, or add hot water or oily substances from leftovers, it will release harmful substances and cause harm to the human body.
There are many kinds of plastic products. According to chemical composition, plastic containers can be divided into PE, PP, PS, PVC, PET, NY, PC, PF and UF containers. Among them, PP (polypropylene) can withstand high temperature above 100℃. You can choose plastic products made of this material to hold hot water.
PC plastic characteristics:
1, material properties
High impact strength, good dimensional stability, colorless and transparent, good coloring, good electrical insulation, corrosion resistance and wear resistance, but poor self-lubrication, stress cracking tendency, easy hydrolysis at high temperature and poor compatibility with other resins. Suitable for making small instrument parts, insulating transparent parts and impact-resistant parts.
2. Molding performance
(1) Amorphous materials have good thermal stability, wide molding temperature range and poor fluidity. Small hygroscopicity, but sensitive to water, must be dried. Molding shrinkage is small and prone to melt cracking and stress concentration, so the molding conditions must be strictly controlled and the plastic parts must be annealed.
(2) For plastic parts with high melting temperature, high viscosity and more than 200g, it is appropriate to use heated extended nozzle.
(3) The cooling speed is fast, and the pouring system of the mold is based on the principle of thick and short, so it is advisable to set up a cold well, the gate should be large and the mold should be heated.
(4) If the material temperature is too low, it will cause material shortage, plastic parts will be dull, and if the material temperature is too high, it will easily overflow and plastic parts will bubble. When the mold temperature is low, the shrinkage, elongation and impact strength are high, while the bending, compression and tensile strength are low. When the mold temperature exceeds 120℃, the plastic parts cool slowly and are easy to deform and stick to the mold.

Optical illumination
It can be used to manufacture large lampshades, protective glasses, left and right eyepiece tubes of optical instruments, etc. And can also be widely used as transparent materials on airplanes.
Electrical products
Polycarbonate is an excellent E( 120℃) insulating material, which is used to manufacture insulating connectors, coil formers, tube seats, insulating sleeves, telephone housings and parts, miner's lamp battery housings, etc. It can also be used to manufacture parts with high dimensional accuracy, such as optical disks, telephones, electronic computers, video recorders, telephone exchanges, signal relays and other communication equipment. Polycarbonate films are also widely used as capacitors, insulated wallets, audio tapes, color video tapes and so on.

It is used to manufacture various gears, racks, worm wheels, worms, bearings, cams, bolts, levers, crankshafts and ratchet wheels, and can also be used as parts of housings, covers and frames of mechanical equipment.

PC plastic modification uses:
The purpose of modified PC is to toughen, improve processability, reduce residual deformation and increase flame retardancy. The specific varieties of modified PC are:
PC/ABS can improve the bending modulus, heat resistance and electroplating performance.
PC/PET and PBT workers can improve drug resistance and solvent resistance.
Adding plexiglass to PC/PMMA can improve the pearlescent color of appearance.
PC/PA and HIPS can improve impact toughness and surface smoothness.
PC/HDPE can improve boiling water resistance, aging resistance and weather resistance, while LDPE has poor effect.
PC is reinforced and modified with glass fiber or carbon fiber to improve its mechanical strength.
Flame retardant PC can be made of bromine flame retardant and antimony trioxide.
Others can be mixed with polysulfone, aromatic polycarbonate, polyoxymethylene, polypropylene and polystyrene to achieve a balance between economy and performance.
