Meditation Black Technology: Brainwave Device

The Meditation Master system consists of a NOAH headband, a yoga mat, and a client APP.

The black NOAH headband collects the user's brainwaves in real time, and matches the user's EEG (brainwave signals) with the music using its own patented algorithm to establish a connection between the underlying physiological characteristics and the advanced semantics, which is then reflected in the yoga mat. The square blue yoga mat has a built-in somatosensory music system that plays specific music and vibrates the sound waves that match the user's brainwaves into the music to help deepen the user's meditation experience.

At the same time, the Meditation Master analyzes the physiological state of the user's EEG feedback, and through a series of patented auditory, visual, and tactile stimulation, helps the user to improve their psychological and physiological problems, and in particular, enables the user to enter into an unprecedented meditative experience more quickly.

In addition to helping users get into a faster state of meditation, the Meditation Master system also supports users to upload their meditation experience and will provide brainwaves from yoga masters around the world for users to refer to, so that they can more efficiently enter into a deep meditation and experience the realm of the masters.

Thanks to its unique design, the Meditation Master yoga mat can be assembled and combined into different shapes, and NOAH founder Bo Zhang told the audience that, in the near future, users will be able to buy multiple yoga mats and turn them into mattresses to improve the quality of their sleep.

Meditation Master has applied for more than a dozen patents, including in China and the United States, and the results of clinical studies are relatively satisfactory. "What's more, our advantage lies in the fact that we can not only monitor and analyze brainwaves, but more importantly, we can use our core technology algorithms to implement real-time, personalized interventions on the brainwaves, so that people can channel and regulate their psychological and mental states in the most natural and relaxing way. For example, the device will provide different frequencies and vibrations, which are called evoked potentials in medicine, to change the frequency of the brain through external stimulation.

The two founders of NOAH Technology are both former researchers at Raylab at Harvard Medical School. Founder and CEO Bo Zhang graduated from Shenyang Polytechnic in 2001, majoring in industrial design. After working in advertising and as a product manager, he became the General Manager of DynaDx Corp. in 2007, a subsidiary of Harvard Medical School's Raylab.

Dongdong Liu, Founder and CTO, is a PhD candidate in biomechanics and medical engineering at Peking University. In 2009, she went to Harvard University's Reylab Research Center for further training in physiological medicine and nonlinear dynamic analysis technology; she has published in Sleep Medicine, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Advances in Adaptive Data Analysis, and the Journal of the American Academy of Sciences. He has published papers on EEG signal processing and analysis in several international journals, including Sleep Medicine, Journal of Theoretical Biology, Advances in Adaptive Data Analysis, and so on.

In 2013, they founded JNUH (Beijing) Technology Co.

The AlphaSense headset is very simple to use. Once on, it monitors your brainwaves in real time, and through the AlphaSense patented brainwave algorithm, it matches your current state with music and light of a specific frequency to give you a mood massage. While assessing the user's current mental state, the patented brainwave induction tool is utilized to lead the user to a state similar to meditation as a way to improve symptoms such as insomnia, mental stress, depressed mood, and physical and mental fatigue.

Zhang Bo, CEO and founder of Meditation Master, explained that music is actually an external stimulus for people. And everyone at each moment, the response to external stimuli is different, depending on the state of your brain at that time. The same piece of music, you listen to today can fall asleep, tomorrow listen to perhaps the opposite effect.

The differences between individuals are even greater, and their taste in music varies greatly depending on their preferences and past experiences. Is one piece of music for everyone? It's impossible.

"That's why we have to make hardware. There is hardware to do real-time detection of brain waves and calculate the current brain state of the individual. There is no way for pure software to do such a recognition process, it has to be carried by hardware." After the detection, the system will select music from the music library to play that matches the user's current state. It is reported that the Meditation Master's library currently has 2, 30 pieces of music, because of the high requirements of the music played, the Meditation Master has also teamed up with a musician in Hong Kong to develop their own.

The team behind Meditation Master also has a lot to offer in the technology space. A number of core technology team members from the world's top Center for Dynamical Biomarkers labs, sleep-related research in the field of research has more than 10 years of research experience, the brain wave analysis and processing have had contact with the CEO, Mr. Zhang Bo, also has more than 7 years of professional medical market operation experience.
