Criteria for medical dependence

Medical dependence is defined as the inability to withdraw from medication or other medical treatment after the expiration of the medical treatment period following a disability caused by an injury or illness, such as the inability to withdraw from insulin treatment for diabetes after a traumatic injury, or the inability to withdraw from antiepileptic agents for epilepsy after a traumatic injury. Medical dependence is an issue that cannot be ignored in the classification of disability criteria.

It refers to those who can not be discharged from the treatment even after the technical appraisal of work injury and disability grade.

Special medical dependence refers to those who have to receive special medicines, special medical equipment or devices for life after being disabled at work.

Special medical dependence refers to those who must receive special medication or special medical equipment or devices for the rest of their lives after being disabled.
