Yucheng county belongs to which city?

Yucheng County belongs to Shangqiu City.

Yucheng County, located in Shangqiu City, Henan Province, is a county under the jurisdiction of Shangqiu City. Yucheng, located in the east of Henan Province, at the junction of Henan, Shandong and Anhui provinces, is located in the east of Shangqiu City and adjacent to Shangqiu New District in the west. It is the nearest county in Shangqiu city.

In the southwest of Yucheng County, Shangqiu City, Henan Province, there is a town of Gushu, which is quite close to Shangqiu City and Yucheng County. Like many villages and towns located in the plain, on the surface, this town does not have many characteristics, and the market town scale is not prominent. The name of ancient Shu is said to come from a river called Shui Gu.

However, such an ordinary town has an unusual side in history because it used to be a county.

About Shangqiu City:

Tracing back to Shang Dynasty, Gushu County was Bo, the capital of Shang Tang, the last capital of Shang Dynasty in late summer and the first capital of Shang Dynasty. In the Western Han Dynasty, Bo County was established. In the Eastern Han Dynasty, Oracle bones (Yi) was a mature county, belonging to the State of Liang. The Northern Wei Dynasty abolished Gushu County and the Sui Dynasty reinstated it. In the Yuan Dynasty, Gushu County was revoked.

After 700 years, it was thought that Gushu County would disappear forever and become an ancient county. But in the early 1950s, Gushu County was set aside from Shangqiu County. The modern Gushu County can be described as a blink of an eye. It was revoked after only two years of existence and belonged to Yucheng County.
