In fact, does the ventilator need maintenance and cleaning?

The ventilator is divided into an air inlet end and a patient end. Both ends need to be cleaned. The air inlet end requires frequent replacement and cleaning of the filter sponge as mentioned above. In fact, this end can only filter dust. Because this is the kind of air we breathe normally every day, there is no need to worry. For patients, it is a bit more complicated:

Wipe off the outer surface of the machine with a clean, soft cotton cloth soaked in detergent or soapy water. of dust and then wipe dry with a soft, dry cloth. During the cleaning process, no liquid is allowed to enter the inside of the machine, otherwise it will cause damage to the machine or even cause dangers such as leakage and short circuit.

Parts that come into contact with the patient, such as breathing tubes, bags, inhalation ports, exhalation ports, external sensors, etc., can be removed and placed in water for cleaning and disinfection.

First use neutral detergent to wash away any dirt that may be attached to the inner wall of the pipeline. Pay special attention to cleaning the phlegm, blood stains, oil stains and other stolen goods residues in the pipeline, and then rinse them with clean water.

Parts connected to the patient must be soaked in medical alcohol with a concentration of 70% for 1 hour, and then can be disinfected after drying.

Disinfection method 1: Soak cleaned breathing tubes, masks and other items in disinfectant for 30 to 60 minutes (note that silicone products are easily damaged if soaked for too long). Commonly used disinfectants include neogermide solution, peracetic acid, 84 disinfectant, etc. After soaking, rinse the disinfectant inside and outside the pipeline with sterilized salt water or distilled water, and hang it to dry.

Disinfection method 2: Place the cleaned breathing tubes, masks and other items in an ethylene oxide disinfection box for routine disinfection.

If the patient is an infectious disease patient, the cleaning and disinfection parts should be soaked in medical alcohol with a concentration of 70 for 1.5 hours and then the above disinfection process should be repeated.

Note: Wastewater, waste liquid, and dirt generated by cleaning and cleaning machines may spread diseases and pollute the environment, and must be handled in strict accordance with relevant national regulations and requirements.
