Gansu Institute of Mechanical & Electrical Vocational Technology (GIMET) is located in Tianshui City, Gansu Province, and is a general higher vocational institution featuring mechanical and electrical specialties. It is a general higher vocational college with the specialty of mechanical and electrical engineering and the coordinated development of engineering, business and management. The college was founded in 1973, formerly known as Gansu Mechanical and Electronic Workers' University.
In 2009, approved by the People's Government of Gansu Province, the school was restructured into Gansu Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Vocational Technology and upgraded to a full-time general higher vocational college. 2021, the school was the first batch to join the alliance of "Gansu Sino-German College", and selected as the "Silk Road Industry-Education Integration and Educational Education Union" vice-chairman unit and the "Silk Road" vice-chairman unit and the "Silk Road" vice-chairman unit.
