The Interim Measures for the Reinsertion of Military Cadres clearly states that "The years of military service of the cadres who have been transferred to the military shall be regarded as the years of contribution to social insurance. The social insurance premiums for medical care during their active service shall be transferred to the social insurance organization in the place of resettlement."
The Regulations on the Reinsertion of Discharged Soldiers make it clear that:
"If a discharged soldier is employed by an urban enterprise, or engages in self-employment in an urban area, or is employed in a flexible manner, he or she shall participate in the basic pension insurance for employees in accordance with the relevant state regulations, and his or her years of active service shall be regarded as the number of years of contribution to the basic pension insurance for employees and shall be calculated in combination with the number of years of contributions actually made. Retired soldiers who return to rural areas shall participate in the new rural social pension insurance in accordance with the relevant state regulations."
"Retired soldiers who work for various types of employers shall participate in the basic medical insurance for employees with their employers; those who are employed in a flexible manner or who have not yet realized employment may participate in the basic medical insurance for employees, the basic medical insurance for urban residents, or the new type of rural cooperative medical care. If a retired soldier participates in basic medical insurance, his or her military retirement medical insurance premiums shall be transferred to the social insurance organization in the place where the retired soldier is resettled in accordance with the relevant provisions of the State. In areas where the provision that the length of service is to be regarded as the number of years of participation in basic medical insurance contributions has been implemented, the retired soldier's years of active military service are to be regarded as the number of years of participation in insurance contributions."
"The employment of retired soldiers shall be accompanied by their units' participation in unemployment insurance, and their years of active service shall be deemed to be the same as the number of years of contribution to unemployment insurance, and shall be calculated together with the actual number of years of contribution. Unemployment insurance to participate in the retired soldiers unemployed, and meet the conditions stipulated in the Regulations on Unemployment Insurance, in accordance with the provisions of the unemployment insurance treatment and the corresponding promotion of re-employment services."
