The Department of Ophthalmology was upgraded and established as an ophthalmology center in 2009 with the approval of the military region, and has become a key department in the development of the 95th Hospital of the PLA. The center now has introduced Japanese NIDEK EC-5000CXII excimer laser system, and it adopts Asian cornea database, which is more suitable for Asians than some European and American equipments, and it is the most advanced ophthalmology surgical equipments at present. In addition, we have a full set of imported examination and treatment equipments, such as French MORIA double-motor corneal laminar knife, Japanese TOPCON computerized optometry, corneal curvature computerized optometry, TOPCON non-contact intraocular pressure meter, etc. We also have a full set of cataract ultrasonic emulsification system, which is the most advanced eye surgery equipment. Among them, cataract ultrasonic emulsification, excimer laser treatment of myopia and other treatment programs are in the forefront of the level of equipment, diagnostic and therapeutic techniques and the amount of surgery, and are well received by people inside and outside the military.
The center, presided over by a team of experts with tens of thousands of cases of surgical experience and specialists from the All-Military Ophthalmology Center, carries out excimer laser treatment of myopia, cataract ultrasonic emulsification, vitrectomy, medical optometry, pediatric strabismus and amblyopia treatments, endoscopy of the lacrimal duct and minimally invasive surgery, glaucoma treatment and oculoplastic surgery. The center now has a professional team with rich clinical experience, including one chief physician, three deputy chief physicians and 18 professional and technical personnel.
