A, Basra port

SAME AS AL BASRAH Iraqi commercial port. Located in the southeast of the country on the southwest bank of the Shatt al-Arab, northwest of the port city. Southeast of the sea from Huning Shahr 18 nautical miles to the port of Abadan 29 nautical miles to the port of Faw 78 nautical miles from the port of Suleiman 338 nautical miles to the port of Bandar Abbas 518 nautical miles to the port of Colombo 2,347 nautical miles. SEE ALBAKIR TERMINAL An off-river oil port on the Iraqi Shatt al-Arab River. The water has a density of 1025 dwt. The tidal range is 0.9 meters. Northeast and southwest winds prevail. Port services are: dinghy, medical, towing, no ship repair, bunkering, dry docking, fresh water supply, provisioning, repatriation or sewage facilities. The nearest airport is at Basra. The port can accommodate ships up to 350,000 tons. The offshore platform berths are 975.4 meters long and 106.7 meters wide, with a water depth of 29 to 30 meters, and can accommodate four 350,000-ton tankers. The tanker terminal has 4 berths, each 487 meters long, with a maximum draft of 21 meters.
