There are 20 hospital beds. Because of the cholera pandemic in Guilin, additional isolation rooms and refugee rooms (all free of charge) were set up, and the number of beds increased to 100, which were divided into one, two and three wards. At that time, the internal pediatrics treatment of common diseases in general, the operating room only two small cottages, a wooden operating bed, a traveling medical instrument kit, a steam sterilizer, surgery can only carry out some minor operations: circumcision, axillary excision, sometimes lang-tail surgery also need to be assisted outside the hospital.

September 1, 1949 hired the first undergraduate graduates of Guangxi Medical College, the former director of the Provincial Health Laboratory, Dr. Su Zi note for the hospital's head of the anti-epidemiological section, the additional Lin Qiuhe for the X-ray room to practice the technician. On October 21 of the same year hired He Qijing as head of internal medicine.
November 22, 1949, the liberation of Guilin, Guilin City, Guilin, the Military Management Committee sent representatives to take over the hospital, the military representative for Wang Yongxing, the hospital to implement the military management. The hospital still uses this name.
July 30, 1950 was renamed Guilin Municipal Hospital, under the Guilin Municipal People's Government. President Wang Yongxing, vice president Chen Wanqi. The hospital staff of 83 people, 68 beds, divided into 12 special wards, 12 beds; first-class wards 16, 16 beds; second-class wards 4, 40 beds. There are no isolation beds for infectious diseases. Major medical equipment: 2 X-ray machines of 30 mA, 1 large shadowless lamp in the operating room, some instruments for surgery, ENT and dentistry, 6 microscopes and 1 large refrigerator.
June 1, 1951 in compliance with the provincial order Guilin Municipal Hospital into the Guilin Municipal People's Hospital, still under the leadership of the municipal people's government, Wang Yongxing transfer, October 30 of the same year, the Guilin Municipal People's Government appointed Chen Wanqi as director of Guilin Municipal People's Hospital, Mo Fuyong served as vice president.
December 13, 1961 Guilin Municipal Government appointed Mo Fuyong Guilin Municipal People's Hospital Director. He was removed from the position of vice president.
In 1963 Guilin Municipal People's Hospital was renamed Guilin People's Hospital. The hospital staff of 286 people, including 196 health and technical personnel, 29 administrative managers, 61 workers. The hospital has 30 beds, and on May 30, 1963, Liu Wenbo was transferred to Guilin People's Hospital as vice president.
December 8, 1980 China *** Guilin Municipal Party Committee appointed Mo Fuyong as director of Guilin People's Hospital, Su Guotai, Xiao Yutian as vice president. Wang Derong was deputy secretary of the party branch.

On September 20, 1989 by the autonomous region of the Department of Health approval, Guilin People's Hospital was designated as the teaching hospital of Guilin Medical College.
