Nov. 12 -- A strong earthquake that struck the northern Iraqi province of Sulaymaniyah on the night of Nov. 12 local time has reportedly killed at least four people and injured hundreds more.
Citing local officials, it was reported that four people were killed in the quake in the town of Darbandi Khan, which is close to the epicenter of the quake, while dozens of others were sent to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Joint Crisis Coordination Center of the Iraqi Kurdish Autonomous Regional Government (KRG) tweeted that more than 500 people have been injured by the quake. Local hospitals in Sulaymaniyah are in urgent need of medical staff, medical equipment and medicines to treat injured people.
Sources at a hospital in Iraq's northern Kirkuk province told reporters that about 65 local people were injured in the quake, and most of the injured have left the hospital after receiving treatment.
Officials in Iraq's eastern Diyala province told the media that hospitals in Diyala have now received about 140 people injured in the quake, most of them elderly.
It was also reported that no casualties have been found in the capital Baghdad, with only a few houses damaged in the quake.
It was reported that a 7.2-magnitude earthquake struck 32 kilometers southwest of Halebjerg region in Iraq's Sulaymaniyah province at 2:18 p.m. Beijing time on the 13th, at a depth of 33.9 kilometers.
