What is PEEK rod

PEEK Rod

PEEK is a unique, high temperature resistant, high performance engineering plastic. It is tough, hard and very strong, with very good chemical and radiation resistance.PEEK can be used for thousands of hours in high temperature steam or high pressure water environments without significant degradation. Radiation resistance is also excellent. During combustion, the amount of smoke and toxic acid gases released is the lowest of all thermoplastics.PEEK is insoluble in all common solvents and is resistant to a very wide range of organic and inorganic liquids, even at higher temperatures.

Benefits of PEEK rods:

PEEK rods consist of semi-crystalline thermoplastics known for their excellent properties.

Biocompatibility

Melting point 343°C (higher than the melting point of PTFE or PPS)

Chemical and abrasion resistance

Highly resistant to attack by organic and aqueous environments

Excellent high temperature performance - high continuous use temperature of 260°C Use

PEEK rod applications:?

Because of its excellent properties, PEEK rod is used in the manufacture of items used in harsh environments, such as bearings, piston parts, pumps and compressor plate valves. It is also widely used in the aerospace, automotive and chemical processing industries.

How do PEEK rods perform? :?

In terms of high temperatures, its short-term operating temperature of 300°C is 40 degrees, or 15 percent, higher than PTFE.PEEK rod material is 53 percent stiffer than acetal and has 36 percent higher tensile strength than nylon. In addition, it is almost 60% stiffer.PEEK rod material has excellent processability, flame retardancy, and has excellent wear and sliding properties.
