Xinzhou Vocational and Technical College, approved by Shanxi Provincial People's Government and put on record by the Ministry of Education, was established in June 2004 as a higher vocational college integrating four secondary specialized schools: Xinzhou Commercial School, Xinzhou Health School and Xinzhou Art School. It is one of the key construction projects in Xinzhou's 11th Five-Year Plan.
The new campus is located in Xinzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, covering an area of 485 mu. The total construction area of the first phase project is about 6.5438+0.3 million square meters, and the project under construction is about 20,000 square meters, including teaching building, training center, student apartment building, underground restaurant and central square. The construction scale can meet the study and life needs of nearly ten thousand students.

The college has 17 basic laboratories and 32 specialized laboratories. There are more than 85 teaching computers 1/kloc-0, 3 books10000, and affiliated hospitals1. The total value of instruments and equipment reached 176 1. 1.8 million yuan. Through school-enterprise cooperation, medical examination centers, clothing factories, machinery processing factories and other enterprises have entered the college, which is a good base for students' internship and training in school.
In recent years, under the guidance of Scientific Outlook on Development, the College has devoted itself to specialty construction in line with the principles of upgrading traditional specialties, running emerging specialties and creating characteristic specialties. Through unremitting efforts, the nursing specialty has been built into a provincial-level demonstration specialty, and a number of characteristic specialties such as accounting, computer animation design, North Road Bangzi and "two-person platform" have been created, which has laid a solid foundation for the future development of the college.
