Interviews: How to Deal with Role-Playing Questions

Role-playing is one of the ways that is often used in recruiting for major foreign companies. The key to answering these questions is to put yourself in the shoes of the person in the role. In addition, the fundamental purpose of questions based on any role is to examine the candidate's attitude towards the company, so in role-playing, imagine yourself as the role, but also to stand in the company's point of view to consider the problem, the so-called big picture, small start, in order to be invincible.

Case One

Interviewer: You are a director of our company and you are in charge of a project. There are six people in the project team. There are six people in the project team. Due to different opinions, the team is split into two parts at a meeting and they are debating ferociously. At this time, as a leader, what will you do to coordinate the two parts? If the two parts disagree, what will you do then?

If you have become a supervisor in my company, you are responsible for managing a project. There are six people on the project team. In a meeting, due to different points of view, the team is divided into two factions,, carried out a heated argument, at this time, you as a leader how to coordinate? What would you do if the two parties could not reach a **** understanding?

Applicant: First, I will listen to both sides carefully, and make my own judgment. If I prefer one side, I will give facts and data to persuade the other side. If I prefer one side, I will give facts and data to persuade the other side. If my opinion is between the two sides, I will also give facts and data to prove my opinion right. If my opinion is between the two sides, I will also give facts and data to prove my opinion right. It is better that the two sides will agree on it. In short, my principle is that everything should be based on data and facts. Every colleague has the right to express his opinion. I will try my best to make all people agree on one thing. If I fail, I will make my decision, as a leader.

First of all, I will listen carefully to both sides and their reasons, and make my judgment. If I favor one side's point of view, I will produce data and facts to convince the other side; if my point of view is between the two, I will likewise prove my position based on data and facts. It's naturally best if we can all come to a ****ing understanding in the end. If not, I will stick to my point of view, but allow colleagues with reservations to come up with more data to communicate with me. All in all, my principle is to speak with data and facts, and every colleague has the right to express his views, and I will try my best to let everyone reach a **** understanding. If it does not work, then as a leader, I will make a decision.

Comment: The candidate's ability to speak on the basis of data and facts, and to be neither an authoritarian nor a peacemaker, demonstrates his maturity in dealing with issues.

Case Two

Interviewer: You are now a team member and if your leader has made a decision but you don't quite agree with this decision and other members don't express any special opinions, then you should be able to make a decision.

Interviewer: You are now a team member and if your leader has made a decision but you don "t quite agree with this decision and other members don "t express any special opinions, what will you do?

If you are now a team member on a project and if your leader has made a decision but you don "t quite agree with this decision and other members don "t express any special opinions, what will you do?

Applicant: If my leader has made a decision, but I myself don "t quite agree with this decision and other members don "t express any special opinion, I will still express my opinion. If the leader doesn "t agree with me, I will make my own judgment. If this decision isn "t very important, then as a team member If this decision isn "t very important, then as a team member, I will act according to

what the leader has decided.

If this is a key decision, I will gather related information to support my view and try to persuade my leader.

If my leader has made a decision, but I personally don't agree with it, and the other members have not expressed a particular opinion, then I will still give my opinion. If the leader disagrees, then I will make my own judgment. If our decision is not very important, then as a team member, I will follow the leader's decision to implement; if it is a key decision, I will collect relevant materials to find support for my own point of view, and strive to convince the leader. Comment: Although only a team member, but the candidate can still boldly put forward their own views, and can make rational judgment on the issue, can let the interviewer feel that the candidate is really standing in the company's position to see the problem, and reflects his handling of the problem of maturity.
