The Xiamen Eye Center, affiliated to Xiamen University, is a national Grade 3A eye hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, scientific research and prevention of blindness. It was formerly known as Xiamen Kaiyuan Eye Hospital, the first eye hospital in Fujian Province, and was officially renamed Xiamen Eye Center affiliated with Xiamen University on November 8, 1997, with the completion of the Xiamen Eye Center building.
