What is it like to live in the UK for an extended period of time?

I live in a small town in the middle of England with relatively few and friendly people. My children and I love the UK and feel a sense of belonging.

The UK has a temperate oceanic climate, with temperatures ranging from above freezing to 20 degrees all year round, not so cold in winter and very pleasant in summer. Because every home is heated by its own boiler, which regulates the room temperature and hot water all year round, the interior is as comfortable as spring in all seasons.

The UK has a relatively small population, and there are often not many people passing by outside their homes, so the living space is very open, and almost every house has a garden where you can grow flowers and vegetables.

My child has been going to school in the UK since elementary school, and the teachers are very nice, and the school curriculum is very colorful, so my child really enjoys going to school, and is very happy to carry her backpack every morning.

Britain's society is relatively stable, social order, the British people are more observant of social morality, consciously queuing up, always say thank you, I'm sorry. The British people are more respectful of social morality, queuing up consciously, saying thank you and sorry anytime, anywhere. In general, most people are still very polite and friendly, especially in small places.

British food is relatively expensive, but the quality is guaranteed. Buy back the pork and beef are not water, the supermarket packaged vegetables and fruits are very clean and fresh, I prefer to eat blueberries, strawberries, Chelsea such fruits, these fruits are cheaper in the United Kingdom, the basic realization of Chelsea free bar.

The British like to maintain a sense of boundaries and distance, general friends are not easily invited to the home, of course, they will not go to your home. But after familiarizing themselves with it, they will also invite you to be their guest, have a cup of tea, eat a dark cuisine and so on. British people like to keep to themselves, they don't care about what's going on in the rest of the world, they only care about their own town and their own family, so relationships are simple in the UK, no one will judge your life, there is no right and wrong, which is what I like most about the UK. In the UK you can be yourself and live your life the way you like. As for your private life, no one cares about whether you are married or not, whether you want to have children or not, how much money you earn, etc., they all live their own lives. In such an environment, people are very free and easy to live how they want.

The British medical care is free for all, although it does not cost money, but the efficiency is very low. If you want to do a checkup and do not belong to the emergency, you can queue for months. So don't pay for things or inefficient. Of course, if you see a private doctor will be very fast, but very expensive, and not all people can afford.

Britain can be said to be a child's paradise, right, children under the age of 16 years old receive a monthly cow's milk powder, public schools are free of charge, even pens and books do not have to buy. Children's annual vision checkups, wearing glasses, dental appointments, orthodontics, and getting prescription drugs are all free. The protection of children in the UK is very good, children's products are tax free and most restaurants have special children's meals. The doctor is also very patient and considerate to the child.

In addition, the UK is a country with a lot of vegetation cover and a beautiful environment. Most of the schools and parks have large green areas and children's facilities for children to run and play, and there are squirrels and rabbits running on the ground, flocks of seagulls flying in the sky, and ducks and swans swimming in the river, so the natural environment is beautiful, and the air is fresh. Children grow up in such an environment, grow up close to nature, love small animals, more loving and energetic, but also more happy, right?

Living well in the UK can be specified in many details, but the personal inner feeling is the most important. Every place has good and bad, suitable for yourself and adapt to life is good. For us, the happiness index and life satisfaction of living in the UK is very high, and I especially like the UK as a country with mild climate, rich vegetation, good social order and friendly people.

2020 will be my 10th year living in the UK, which is a long time, so let's just talk about the good and bad things about living here.

Benefits: peace and quiet, low cost of living, living as yourself.

I live in a small town in the UK, which I think is especially good for people like me who aren't very social. When I want to go to London, I can take a 45-minute train ride to the center of the city and go shopping and see exhibitions. There are a lot of Chinese people living around, not as many friends as at home, but it's a state I feel comfortable in. No problem walking the kids together or anything.

The cost of living, many people may think that the United Kingdom is expensive, but compared with the income, or very spare. Of course, it is not rich and expensive, that is, normal life, a little bit of money on hand, nothing to go to other countries in Europe to play no problem.

Living a life of self-importance, probably also far from home, there are no great aunts and uncles, do what you like. In the UK society is generally very respectful of personal choice, no marriage, no children, no one will persuade you.

The downside: the trouble of seeing a doctor, the difficulty of integrating into the local circle, the lack of a sense of belonging

Britain's universal health care is not a lie, it is really convenient to see a small disease, near the home of the family doctor to see. However, if you have to queue up for a major illness, you may be delayed, so the Chinese **** knowledge is to fly directly back to their home country for treatment of major illnesses.

Circle problem, may also depend on the individual, I think it is more difficult to integrate. Children in kindergarten can feel, British children's mothers naturally form a circle, foreign mothers are another circle. They don't explicitly ostracize you, but you can just feel that disconnect.

The lack of a sense of belonging is one aspect of this, and it may also have something to do with not being able to integrate into the local community, which is a problem that is not being solved, and which my next generation will probably still have.

There are good and bad things about life in the UK, and everyone has a different personality and different feelings. I still prefer the free and easy life in the UK, but I don't rule out the possibility of going back to my home country in the future.

Personally, I have been living in the UK for many years, and the overall feeling is that the winter is too long and difficult to endure, not in the winter is about in the winter [spit] all kinds of are simmering, may be a small matter of time to deal with 1 hour can be resolved, the other side have to be 6-8 weeks [sweat] quietly waiting for ...... to see the doctor to wait for too long, it is estimated that if it is a Cancer, wait until the other side of the hospital has been found out, people have been almost gone ...... overall efficiency is poor, a variety of unreliable ...... lonely and lonely; people, dressed like a lady, spit words like Oxford graduated, but you go to the Home may be everywhere in the garbage, of course, most of the cases such things you can not see, because everyone is loaded with technology in it! The township place is everywhere is the scenery, people see people crooked mouth smiling [thinking] place is small then, your ex's ex's ex may be the current incumbent, we all like to gossip keep a good sense of humor is very important hahahaha let people love and hate ...... [I want to be quiet]

I was in 2005 when in the Ireland after studying abroad and then finding a job opportunity in the UK. I'm going to talk about two main areas below, my own and my daughter's education.

The best thing about working in the UK is the dignity and fairness. I don't need to be obsequious or nod my head to the leader, call the leader, the boss by his name. In the UK, any unfair treatment in the workplace can be stated in a conversation with the leader or in written materials, and you will be treated fairly and equitably. You don't have to worry about racial discrimination because it is a very serious mistake in the UK, especially at work, and managers are worried about it too. In addition, you don't have to worry about people suing and wearing shoes at work, because you can talk to your superiors and superiors in any situation, and there is always a place where you can make a statement.

The second thing that struck me was the impact of school on children's education. The school where my children studied in Shanghai before was a private one, and the sponsorship fee for enrollment in 2001 was 8,000 RMB. At such a school, there were still cases of teachers pulling students' pigtails, verbal violence and so on. When my daughter came to the UK to study in junior high school, all the teachers took great care of her. On my daughter's first day of school, the class teacher made it a point to tell the naughty kids not to bully my daughter and to report any such cases to him. Since French is the second foreign language in the UK and my daughter had not learned it in China before, there was a big gap between her and her classmates in the same grade. The French teacher gave my daughter a free tutorial at a fixed time every week, and every time my daughter went to her office after school to study, the teacher would prepare snacks and drinks for my daughter, which were not her part, until my daughter graduated from middle school, her French grade was already the first in the whole grade.

I've written a bit too much today.

I. Climate

In the UK, there is only one season in a 365-day year, and it's called about the fall. That's why you can see camisoles, T-shirts, sweaters

, jackets, trench coats, and down coats on the streets of the UK at the same time.

One thing you must remember when you come to the UK is to bring an umbrella, as the weather in the UK is capable of raining at any time of the week.

Education

The UK has a world-renowned education system where children aged 5-16 can enjoy free and compulsory education in public schools. Its private schools also have very good teachers and teaching equipment, but the fees are slightly higher.

Britain's education, second only to the United States, ranks second in the world, with Cambridge, Oxford, the University of London, these world-renowned institutions. However, to go to these prestigious schools, 211 universities or 985 universities in the country is the best.

Three, work

In the UK, the biggest difference is that work and life can be separated. Within 8 hours of work, we have a working relationship, so if you have any problems, you can contact your clients or colleagues. After 8 hours you don't have the luxury of being able to contact people, and if people return emails or messages, that's what they want. But you can ignore messages and e-mails, or turn off your phone completely, no problem at all, and others will not expect you to reply. You have your own time outside of work to do what you want to do or spend time with your family.

Four, public transportation

Because of the low population density in the UK, public transportation is seldom full, basically every time there is a place to sit, but also can rub the charging port near the seat. Because there are not many passengers, the buses here do not stop at every station, and the interval is as short as 20 minutes, as long as 1 hour, for the first time, do not understand some of the invisible rules may have to be embarrassed.

Public **** transportation is really expensive compared to the domestic, a ride to spend the equivalent of at least ten yuan.

Fifth, the rhythm

Just came to the United Kingdom period, to slowly adapt to the British rhythm. The speed of the business of the utility grid is simply a tortoise, a customer service phone call waiting time may be up to 1 hour, the UK is not as fast as our installation of broadband in the country, the network to 10 days before the installation of good.

Sixth, etiquette

In the United Kingdom, some etiquette is necessary, such as the two sides in the meeting first handshake and then greet each other, some of the festivals are to be congratulated, there is also the etiquette of the table is very important to pay attention to these aspects of the problem, to avoid their own unnecessary misunderstandings.

Seven, character

The British are more subtle, like to spit, but speak very good at grasping the situation, generally not particularly angry will not swear. They are very advanced in their jokes, and may also tell cold jokes. To be a gentleman, young people are actually not as gentlemanly as the older generation, and most Brits are very friendly. The British live a traditional conservative life and respect personal freedom and tolerance of ideas.

Eight, security

The United Kingdom has implemented strict gun control, even the police on the street can not wear a gun. Moreover, large and small cities in the United Kingdom are covered with cameras, the police are everywhere, the overall social security is superior, and therefore many cities will give people a sense of peace and quiet.

Nine, welfare

Britain's welfare system can be called the classic textbook of the West, widows, orphans and orphans, all have to support, to realize the concept of Confucius a thousand years ago. The British welfare system is broadly divided into eight categories: children's and maternity benefits, education benefits, disability or sickness benefits, retirement benefits, widows' benefits, unemployment benefits, low-income benefits and social funds, and is globally recognized as a high-welfare country.

Overall if you like peace and quiet, then life in the UK is definitely for you.

I've been living in the UK for over two years now, and since my children are going to school here, I think the quality of life is much better than it was in Beijing.

I think the quality of life is much better than when I was in Beijing. In Beijing, you have to find an aunt to help you with your child if you want to go to work, but in the UK it's not the same, you have time to spend with your child, and you can find a part-time job when your child goes to school, and you won't be discriminated against at work because you're a foreigner, and you definitely won't be forced to work overtime, and you'll be able to go away from work when you get off work at the end of the day. The same applies to my neighbors; although I don't have as many friends here as I do at home, and there are basically no Chinese in the area where I live, my neighbors are still very friendly, sometimes they drink tea and chat with each other, and sometimes they share the good food with each other, and then they come over and give gifts to my children at Christmas time; overall, I'm still enjoying my life in the UK.

I don't represent the Chinese community in the UK, just my personal opinion[teeth bared]

I've lived in the UK for many years, and when it comes to the UK, the first thing that pops into my head is the terrible weather[facepalm]

It rains far too much, and the sun comes out far too little. And the winters are so long that even when summer arrives, the nights are much colder than the winters in Guangdong [tears] For me, a Cantonese girl, the weather is the hardest thing for me to get used to.

I live in a small town in the UK, and I think it's particularly suitable for people like me who aren't too social and don't like to kiss ass, and are free and easy going.

The cost of living, many people may think that the UK is expensive, but compared to the income, it is still very generous. Of course, it is not rich and expensive, that is, normal life, a little money on hand, nothing to go to other countries in Europe to play no problem.

Living a life of self-importance, there are no great aunts and uncles to do what they like. In the UK society is generally very respectful of personal choice.

But the UK also has its drawbacks, such as the backwardness of public transportation, if you do not have a car to travel, it is not very convenient to go anywhere.

In terms of healthcare, the advantage is that it is free and the disadvantage is that it is slow.

Education: education is free. Currently my son is in kindergarten stage, there is no way to give a review.

Personally, I particularly like the UK, and have spent 3 years as an international student. I think everything is fine, and if you have a good job, are not particularly sociable, and are not that serious about your child's ability to be a real Brit in the future or not, maybe the UK is the place to go.

Here in the summer morning dawn too early, less than 4 o'clock woke up and told me: "dawn get up"

Good mountains/good water/good boredom
