What is the meaning of medical aid

Medical assistance means that the state and society provide specialized help and support to citizens who are unable to afford medical treatment due to poverty.

Medical aid is usually a rescue treatment to restore the health and maintain the basic survival ability of the poor people through medical institutions under the leadership of the relevant government departments and with the participation of a wide range of society.

The standard of medical aid:

1. For those who have contributed for less than 5 years, the rate of medical aid is 60%; the cumulative medical aid does not exceed 60% of the total amount of unemployment insurance benefits to be received by the person;

2. For those who have contributed for more than 5 years but less than 10 years, the rate of medical aid is 65%; the cumulative medical aid does not exceed 65% of the total amount of unemployment insurance benefits to be received by the person. If the accumulated contribution time is 10 years but less than 15 years, the ratio of medical fee subsidy is 70%; the accumulated medical fee subsidy does not exceed 70% of the total amount of unemployment insurance benefits that I should receive;

4. If the accumulated contribution time is 15 years but less than 20 years, the ratio of medical fee subsidy is 75%; the accumulated medical fee subsidy does not exceed 75% of the total amount of unemployment insurance benefits that I should receive.

5. If the accumulated contribution time is more than 20 years, the ratio of medical fee subsidy is 80%; the accumulated medical subsidy is not more than 80% of the total amount of unemployment insurance benefits to be received by the person himself/herself.

In summary, medical allowance is not a statutory benefit, and the standard of allowance and the policy of granting it may vary from one employer to another.

Article 28

Medical expenses that are in line with the basic medical insurance drug catalog, diagnostic and therapeutic items, and standards of medical service facilities, as well as those for emergency and rescue, shall be paid out of the basic medical insurance fund in accordance with state regulations.

Article 29

The portion of the medical expenses of insured persons that should be paid by the basic medical insurance fund shall be settled directly between the social insurance administration organization and the medical institutions and drug business units.

The administrative departments of social insurance and the administrative departments of health shall establish a settlement system for medical expenses incurred for medical treatment in other places, so as to facilitate the enjoyment of basic medical insurance by insured persons.
