EU rohs directive refers to the hazardous substances and what is the standard

RoHS is a mandatory standard developed by the European Union legislation, its full name is "on the restriction of the use of certain hazardous components in electrical and electronic equipment directive" (Restriction of Hazardous Substances). The standard was formally implemented on July 1, 2006, and is mainly used to regulate the material and process standards of electrical and electronic products, making them more conducive to human health and environmental protection. The purpose of the standard is to eliminate lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, PBB and PBDE***6 substances in electrical and electronic products, and focuses on the content of lead can not exceed 0.1%.

The second directive

The European Union Parliament and the European Commission on February 13, 2003 in its "Official Journal" published "Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive" (referred to as "WEEE Directive") and "Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (referred to as the "RoHS Directive")

RoHS Directive and the WEEE Directive" provides for the inclusion of hazardous substances restriction management and end-of-life recycling management of ten categories of 102 products, the first seven categories of products are China's main export electrical products. Including large household appliances, small household appliances, information and communications equipment, consumer products, lighting equipment, electrical and electronic tools, toys, leisure and sports equipment, medical equipment (except for implanted or infected products), monitoring and control instruments, vending machines.

RoHS Scope:Only for new products placed on the market from July 1, 2006 onwards. This includes incandescent lamps and light sources for household use.

Not to violate the special safety and health requirements of the special directives or regulations - Vehicle ELV, Automotive Directive; Battery Directive, 91/157/EEC, 93/86/EEC & 98/101/EC

Excludes: medical devices or monitoring equipment (WEEE Directive categories 8, 9); in July 2006, before the first of July put on the market repair spare parts. Repair parts placed on the market prior to July 1, 2006; Recycled products originally placed on the market prior to July 1, 2006

RoHS is aimed at all electrical and electronic products that may contain the above six hazardous substances in the production process and raw materials, including: white goods, such as refrigerators, washing machines, microwave ovens, air conditioners, vacuum cleaners, water heaters, etc.; black goods, such as audio and video products, DVDs, CDs, TV receivers, IT products, digital products, communication products, etc.; power tools, electronic toys, and medical electrical equipment. electronic toys , medical electrical equipment.
