The SBR process is a variant of the activated sludge method, which operates on a cyclic basis, with each cycle consisting of five processes: influent, reaction (aeration), precipitation, discharge and standby. the influent, reaction, precipitation, discharge and standby of a single cycle of the SBR can all be controlled. Each process is associated with specific reaction conditions (mixed/static, aerobic/anaerobic) that promote selective changes in the physical and chemical characteristics of the effluent.
SBR process has the advantages of simple flow, convenient management, capital investment, lower operating costs, good treatment results and high degree of equipment localization.
