Course Settings
1. Comprehensive English Courses and Academic Courses
Comprehensive courses are designed for students with low English proficiency and heavy professional course load. This course is designed to combine the full-time English course at FIC at Burnaby Campus with one or two academic subjects from the UTP Stage 1 or UTP Stage 2 courses. The minimum entry requirement for comprehensive courses is IELTS 5.0 (equivalent).
2. University Transfer Program Phase 1
FIC provides University Transfer Program (UTP) Phase 1 as an intermediate bridge course between high school and university education. UTP Stage 1 courses are designed to provide adequate preparation for university-level courses in business administration, computing, liberal arts and social sciences.
The UTP Stage 1 curriculum consists of 8 subjects. Successful completion of this course and passing grades ensures admission to FIC's UTP Phase 2 course. In addition to formal class time, FIC provides students with additional support. Each student can consult with teachers, receive math and English tutoring, and have free use of the computer center.
3. University Transfer Program Phase 2
Business Administration, the University Transfer Program (UTP) Phase 2 of Business Administration is for students entering business and various fields of commerce, including accounting, business, finance, Human resource management, international trade, management information systems, management and organizational studies, management science and marketing provide a learning foundation for further study. Students are provided with a broad introduction to these fields, and when they enter university after completing UTP Stage 2 courses, they can choose to specialize in the branches of interest. Computer Science: The University Transfer Program (UTP) Stage 2 of Computer Science provides a foundation for further study in various fields of computing, including artificial intelligence, computer graphics, programming languages ??and software, information systems, computer systems, and computational theory. Students are provided with a broad introduction to these fields, and when they enter university after completing UTP Stage 2 courses, they can then choose to specialize in the branches of interest. Arts and Social Sciences: The University Transfer Program (UTP) Stage 2 of Arts and Social Sciences provides a foundation for further study in related fields, including economics, English, history, political science and social sciences. Student Services
At Fraser International College, we understand that the transition to university life can be difficult for some students. To help you develop the necessary study skills to successfully complete your study programme, Fraser International College offers a variety of study support services. Academic advisors, along with faculty, offer a series of lectures and workshops throughout the semester for students who wish to master study skills in areas such as time management and examination techniques. Academic advisors and other faculty members are also available to provide individual or group tutoring during the semester if you need help with the design, research, construction, writing, and citing of assignments outside of class. The free English and Study Skills programs offered each semester are also useful for international students who need extra help improving their English speaking and writing skills. When you get stuck, we encourage you to take part in these programs and contact Fraser International College's friendly staff for advice and support.
Personal Support
Free and confidential counseling services are available to all Fraser International College students. Things don't always turn out the way we planned, and sometimes problems of a personal nature arise. An advisor will discuss with you a range of questions or concerns you may have while at Fraser International College. If your academic, social, or personal life has been disrupted, turning to an advisor at Fraser International College is often a good start in resolving these issues. Fraser International College students also have access to the excellent health and counseling services provided by Simon Fraser University. For minor guardianship, Fraser International College provides guardianship to students through the First Choice service. If you require this service, please inform Fraser International College when making your application for admission. Please also download and complete the guardianship application form. Service fees include: Initial establishment fee: 150 Canadian dollars; Per semester fee: 75 Canadian dollars (until age 19); Services include: First Choice meets with Fraser International College students at least once per semester to ensure that the student is in good condition and that new students are admitted Guidance and Orientation include a range of activities and programs that provide students with valuable information and support to help you make a smooth transition to study at Fraser International College.

Fraser International College arranges day trips to Vancouver and surrounding areas every semester.
