Ruzhou, county-level city in Henan Province, administered by Pingdingshan City. Ruzhou has a long history and has been the seat of county and state governments for more than 1,400 years. Since the establishment of Ruzhou by the Sui Dynasty in 606 A.D., Ruzhou has served as a direct state, governing the neighboring areas of Rushan, Baofeng, Ye County, 郏县, Xiang County, and Ruyang, etc. In February 1913, Ruzhou was lowered to the direct state of Linru County, and in August 1988, the Henan government notified the abolition of Linru County, and the establishment of the city of Ruzhou (at the county level).
Ruzhou City is located in the central and western part of Henan Province, with geographic coordinates of 33°56′-34°20′ north latitude, 112°31′-113°07′ east longitude, and a total area of 1573 square kilometers.
