Requirements for ISO National Registered Auditors

Requirements for applying for registration as a CNAT Quality Management System Trainee Auditor:

1. Training Experience

(1) The applicant should have successfully completed an approved CNAT-IATCA QMS auditor training course and passed the approved examination.

(2) When applying for initial registration at the auditor level, the training shall have been obtained within 3 years prior to the application for registration.

(3) If the applicant can demonstrate that he or she has been engaged in auditing or implementing quality management systems between the time of auditor training and the submission of the application, as well as completing the appropriate level of continuing professional development activities to meet the requirements for maintaining registration, the applicant's three-year period of training may be extended by one year.

2. Educational experience

(1) The applicant shall have a state-recognized college degree or above (including college) or equivalent qualifications recognized by CNAT;

(2) The applicant shall have received education sufficient to acquire the knowledge required as an auditor. The applicant shall also provide CNAT with evidence of continuous improvement of their knowledge and skills (through professional education, training programs or other appropriate professional development) in their chosen field of work.

Note 1: State-recognized qualifications refer to those recognized by China's personnel and education departments, see the relevant regulations and websites of the relevant departments. Equivalent qualifications refer to the educational experience in other countries or regions that is equivalent to the post-secondary qualifications in China's national education system, which should be notarized.

Note 2: In any case, the applicant should provide written proof of the declared educational experience.

3. Work Experience

(1) Applicants with a bachelor's degree or higher shall have at least 4 years of full-time (or part-time cumulative equivalent of 4 years of full-time) work experience; applicants with a college degree shall have at least 5 years of full-time (or part-time cumulative equivalent of 5 years of full-time) work experience. The work experience should have been gained in a technical, professional or managerial position with determination responsibilities, problem solving and communication with other managers or professionals, peers and customers.

(2) The applicant shall submit written verification of the work experience. The certification shall provide the job duties, position, grade level, and reported level in which the applicant performed the work. Note 1: Acceptable work experience shall be acquired after obtaining a college degree or higher. Note 2: In principle, the experience of personnel in various management, technical and functional departments of the organization (e.g., personnel in administration, quality control, inspection, metrology, process, technology, training, standardization, etc.), as well as the person in charge of the implementation department related to product realization activities (e.g., the person in charge of the inspection and testing organization, the person in charge of the workshop, the project manager, etc.), is regarded as acceptable work experience for the purpose of auditor registration. Implementation of specific positions in the department of operators (eg: sales staff, medical and nursing staff, financial cashier, equipment operators, service industry personnel engaged in specific services, etc.), their experience can not be accepted as auditor registration work experience.

4. Quality experience

(1) The applicant shall have at least 2 years of experience in quality-related fields in the total work experience.

(2) Appropriate quality experience includes implementation, operation and/or auditing of a quality management system (QMS). Such experience shall provide the applicant with the practical knowledge required to effectively audit such QMS, and such experience must have been acquired within 5 years prior to the initial application for auditor registration.

Note 1: "Experience in the implementation of a quality management system" refers to the experience in the implementation of the system by the personnel in the business management department of the organization (e.g., metrology, standards, inspection, technology, planning, etc.) and by the person in charge of the department of implementation of the quality management system in the organization (e.g., purchasing, sales, production, after-sales service, etc.).

Note 2: "experience in operating a quality management system" means experience in planning and operating a quality management system in the organization's top management and quality department.

Note 3: "Experience in quality management system auditing" can be found in the CNAT "Guidelines for the Registration of Quality Management System Auditors" (second edition) in the "Qualified Audit for Registration".

Note 4: Quality experience and work experience can occur simultaneously.

3C certification qualifications, the current domestic auditors, are CQC certification centers, around the Quality Supervision, Commodity Inspection System of the establishment of people. There are also a few large certification centers.

The full name of the 3C certification is "Compulsory Product Certification System", which is the Chinese government to protect consumer safety and national security, strengthen product quality management, in accordance with laws and regulations to implement a product conformity assessment system. The so-called 3C certification, is the China Compulsory Product Certification system, the English name China Compulsory Certification, abbreviated CCC.
