Which of the following requirements is unnecessary when using an autoclave?

It is not necessary to wear protective clothing and gloves when using an autoclave.

Autoclave is a fast and reliable equipment that uses pressure saturated steam to sterilize products. It is suitable for medical and health undertakings, scientific research, agriculture and other units, and is an ideal equipment for sterilization of medical instruments, dressings, glassware, solution culture media and so on. High pressure steam sterilization has the advantages of fast sterilization speed, reliable effect, high temperature and strong penetration. Improper use will lead to sterilization failure.

Before use, check the water level in the lower vent bottle to make it lower than the middle position between the highest line and the lowest line, otherwise, pour out the water and continue the operation. Turn the handle of the exhaust valve counterclockwise, and then slide the cover horizontally to the right. Take out the top basket and add RO water/distilled water to make the water level at least exceed the bottom of the bottom basket.

Correct use of autoclave

All medical instruments, sheets and clothes that have been exposed to pathogenic microorganisms should be disinfected with chemical disinfectants first, and then cleaned as usual. In particular, all kinds of articles used in infectious wards should be strictly inspected and disinfected before cleaning and disinfection. During daily cleaning, first soak and scrub with detergent solution to remove oil stains, blood stains and other dirt on articles, and then rinse with running water. Articles such as instruments with shaft joints, tooth slots and gaps should be opened or disassembled as far as possible and thoroughly cleaned.

The washed articles should be dried and packaged according to clinical needs to avoid further pollution. Before and after decontamination, containers and means of transport should be strictly distinguished and clearly marked to prevent cross-infection. The packaging is white cotton cloth wrapped in double layers, and the new cloth should be washed and beaten before use. The packing of articles should be tied with string, not loose or too tight.
