The school was first named Beiyang Medical Hall, founded in 1894 in Tianjin by Li Hongzhang, Governor of Zhili, Minister of Beiyang, is the first government-run Western medical school in modern China. After the Xinhai Revolution, 1913 Beiyang Medical Hall renamed Zhili Public Medical Specialized School, and began to enroll undergraduate students. 1915 school moved to Baoding. 1937 July 7, the outbreak of the war of resistance against Japan, the school was forced to stop. 1946 January school enrollment. 1949 April renamed Hebei Medical College. 1958 school moved to Shijiazhuang from Baoding. 1995, the former Hebei Medical College, Hebei College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Shijiazhuang Medical College, Hebei Medical College, Hebei Medical College, and Hebei Medical College.
