The disadvantage of commercial insurance as a supplement to social health insurance is that it is insured but uninsured, so if the cost exceeds that, the insured will have to pay out of pocket. This part is part of social health care and cannot be reimbursed yes, but if you buy commercial health insurance you can get reimbursed from the insurance company.
The order of reimbursement of medical insurance is as follows:
(1) First use medical insurance reimbursement. Specific reimbursement methods are not discussed here. Generally, you can just swipe your Medicare card. Some places may require you to pay in advance and then go to Medicare for reimbursement.
(2) If your organization gives you supplemental medical care, remember to use the supplemental medical reimbursement. Generally, the amount of supplemental medical reimbursement is not large, about 10,000 yuan, but don't underestimate that 10,000 yuan. With this $10,000, you can deduct the "$10,000 deductible" of your million-dollar health insurance policy, allowing you to file an additional $10,000 claim. In addition, if you have minor medical insurance, you can also use it to reimburse the balance first.
Social health insurance is far less comprehensive than commercial health insurance in this regard. For example, fees for services such as registration fees and out-of-hospital consultation fees, as well as medical fees for examination and treatment programs using large medical equipment such as positron emission tomography (PET) scans and electron-beam CTs, are not covered by social health insurance. However, commercial insurance can cover them.
Commercial health insurance typically reimburses up to 100 percent above the deductible, whereas social health insurance, a state benefit, reimburses much less than 100 percent. If you are treated elsewhere, the reimbursement will be smaller than for local treatment. As you can see, without the supplement of commercial health insurance, social health insurance is of little use if you have a more serious illness.
