Ankang People's Hospital was founded in 1978, formerly known as Ankang Railway Central Hospital, was formally transferred to the People's Government of Ankang on January 1, 2005, under the management of the Municipal Health Bureau, and was named Ankang People's Hospital by the municipal government in the same year. The hospital covers an area of 16,100 square meters (26.8 acres), with an original construction area of 19,194 square meters and an existing area of 45,959 square meters. At present, it is a Grade 2A general hospital with 700 beds; 668 employees on duty, including 583 health technicians (210 with titles above middle and senior level); *** there are 47 clinical, medical and technical, administrative and logistic departments. It is the designated hospital for basic medical treatment for urban workers of Xi'an Railway Bureau, Ankang City, and Hanbin District; the designated hospital for the city's agricultural cooperative; the second affiliated hospital of Ankang Vocational and Technical College; the collaborative hospital of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xi'an Jiaotong University, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital, and Shaanxi Provincial Tumor Hospital; and the Ankang City Tumor Radiation Therapy Center. The hospital has five health centers to provide medical and health services for workers and their families along the Xikang and Xiangyu Railway.
