Instrument Safety of E-Light Cosmetology

E-Light is a medical device used to safely and reliably improve the overall condition of facial skin. It can be used safely by trained and qualified medical practitioners when properly operated and maintained. Attending physicians and others who operate or maintain this device should be fully aware of the safety information provided in this section.

The primary consideration is the safety of the patient, physician, and other personnel.

The E-Light has been designed to maximize the safety of patients and healthcare personnel. The following are some of its safety precautions:

The light is transmitted to the patient's skin using an enclosed filter/light-guide crystal, and intense pulses of light are emitted only from the front face of the light-guide crystal.

The power can be quickly cut off with the emergency stop switch when needed.

The key switch prevents misuse of the instrument.

WARNING

Any bright light emitting device can cause personal injury if used improperly.

Operators should be alert at all times and take the necessary protective measures.

Patient

Patient safety depends primarily on a well-trained physician and a properly appointed treatment room. Before the treatment, the doctor should explain to the patient in detail the treatment process and precautions, so that they fully understand the principles of treatment and actively cooperate with the treatment.

Patients should wear protective eyewear when receiving bright light therapy.

Medical personnel

Medical personnel may come into contact with high-intensity light during treatment, so they should be protected by the corresponding wavelengths, and should wear protective eyewear during treatment.

Treatment room

The high-intensity light being used should be clearly labeled in the treatment room. Ensure that a safety warning sign is prominently displayed when using this device. Safety precautions should be taken to ensure the safe use of the E-Light, please read the following warnings carefully:

No one other than our authorized technicians should be allowed to service the E-Light, and in particular, the interior of this instrument, including disassembly and adjustment of the power supply, cooling system, optics, and high-intensity light treatment head. Be aware of the dangerously high voltage inside this device and make sure that the rated voltage of the E-Light corresponds to the voltage in your country.

Users should only perform maintenance on this device when it is turned off and unplugged from the power cord. Maintaining the instrument while it is energized can cause both personal injury and damage to the equipment.

The photoconductive crystal should always be kept clean. Do not allow cold gel to penetrate the inside of the phototherapy head.

When light leakage is detected from the phototherapy head, it must not be turned on, and if it is turned on, it must be turned off immediately.

Warning about strong light

Strong pulsed light may damage the eyes or cause burns and cauterization. Take all necessary precautions when using it.

Excessive light energy emitted into the treatment area may cause thermal damage to the skin, resulting in hyperplasia or atrophy or abnormal pigmentation.

Protection should be ensured in the event of accidental exposure of healthcare professionals and patients to bright light, whether emitted directly or reflected from the phototherapy head. Protective eyewear should be worn by both the patient and the healthcare worker.

Do not look directly into the light emitted from the phototherapy head, even if protective eyewear is worn.

Do not point the light therapy head into the air. When not in use, the light therapy head should be placed on a hook; when in use, it should be pointed at the treatment site.

Hands should be kept away from the light therapy head when it is turned on.

Optical Safety

For optical safety, follow these instructions:

All persons using the E-Light, including the patient, should wear protective eyewear to prevent accidental glare in the eyes. If the patient is unable to wear protective eyewear, protect the patient's eyes with an opaque material that completely blocks the light.

Mark prominently in the treatment room that E-light is being used by placing a hazard symbol in a prominent location.

Allow only necessary, well-trained safety personnel to approach the instrument.

Make sure that all personnel in the treatment room are familiar with the controls of the E-Light and know how to turn it off quickly.

Someone should be responsible for operating the E-Light under the supervision of the treating physician.
