The role of air cushion guide

Air cushion navigation, also known as air cushion guide, the role of the slider and the contact surface of the friction into the friction of the slider and the air, can greatly reduce the friction.

Air cushion guide is a kind of modern mechanics experimental apparatus. It uses a small air source to send compressed air into the inner cavity of the guide. The air is then ejected from small holes on the surface of the guide rail, forming a very thin air cushion layer between the surface of the guide rail and the inner surface of the glider.

The glider floats on the air cushion layer, and the rail surface out of contact, and thus can be done on the rail surface of the approximate no resistance to straight-line motion, greatly reducing the previous mechanical experiments due to friction caused by the error. Combined with the puncture timer, photoelectric gate, flash photography, etc., to determine a variety of mechanical physical quantities and verify the laws of mechanics.

Guide rail

The use of special triangular alloy profiles, quenched and anodized.QG-5 type air cushion guide, bevel width of 70 mm, cavity area of 18.25 square centimeters. One end of the guide rail is closed and the other end can be air intake. The surface on the guide rail is evenly distributed with small holes.

Slider

Made of a special aluminum alloy profile with five T-slots, it is easy to install various accessories. For experiments, it is placed on top of a ventilated guide rail.

Photoelectric gate

The sensor of the timing device is equipped with a photosensitive element. The photoelectric gate is mounted on the side of the airlaid guide. The use of photosensitive tube with light and no light two states respectively control timer "start time" and "stop time".

Support

Three-point structure, easy to adjust, mainly for adjusting the level of the guide rail. The pivot point is at the 2/9 position of the full length of the guide rail to ensure that the guide rail gravity deformation is small.

Pad foot

Pad block under the foot. Can be used to change the inclination of the rail. The pads are usually placed under the single foot screws.

Launcher

At one end of the rail. When the guideway is horizontal, a spring or rubber band is mounted on it for launching use, which can make the moving object get a basically the same initial velocity every time it moves.

Scale

Fixed to one side of the guide rail.
